Weathered my Bachman Rail Truck

I finally got to weathering my Bachman Rail Truck. Those plastic 'wood' sides really got to me. I shot them with gray primer, then a wash of india ink and alcholol over that to bring out the grain. A shot of clear matte, then I brushed on some Bragdon chalk powders. Used that on the metal of the truck also. I made the decals onto clear laser decal paper. Black around the white areas. Then I put the decal onto white sign vinyl(get scraps from your local sign shop). Cut them to size, then I used a black marker around the edges that showed a little line of white. Peeled off the backing and stuck them on.

Seems I'm following you around a bit today Jerry..... really good job of improving the nasty 'plastic' look, I love a well weathered look.
Won some s/hand & tatty Bachmann coach and motor bogie bits on ebay earlier this year (awaiting my collection from son's place in Connecticut at the moment) My plan is to scratch-build a beaten-up truck - I think they look great.

Regards
Rob
