Hi guys - I'm after a scale drawing for the Baguley Drewry 'Chattenden' diesel shunter that's based at the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway.
Before anyone thinks my garden line is changing country/focus, don't get too excited! I am building an 009 layout and it is for that project!

I believe it appeared in a copy of the 16mm association magazine at some point in the past.

I'm happy to cover copying and postage costs if anyone can help, but doesn't have it electronically!
Please reply or send me a PM :)

Cheers,

James

Steve, thanks for the reply.
In 16mm the Accucraft kit is for the diesel on the Vale of Rheidol, not the Welshpool and Llanfair.

In 009, the RT models kit is for the un rebuilt engine, and I would prefer to work in etched brass for the finesse of finish I am hoping to achieve.

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

James,

There was a drawing in Tom Cooper's Garden Railway World magazine from the eraly '90's which I have. It shows the loco both pre and post the cab entrance mods carried out at Welshpool. I took the magazine to work to scan only a few weeks ago - but can't find the file! I'll look out the original drawing and either scan it again or post you a copy.

I'll be in contact later in the week.

Regards,

Tony.

Essel engineering produce a RTR Chattenden in 16mm scale, I think that might be what Steve was talking about, not the accucraft one.

Here's a couple of pics from early 1982; not side on but I hope they're of use.

Yes that is the one, a very nice piece of kit but as dear as a live steam loco.

Here's a side on view from 23/2/2008

again, I hope its of some use to you.

James,

Found it! It was in the January/February 1989 edition of Garden Railway World. The article is more of a description but has undimensioned drawings which may be of use. I have also found the 16mm Today drawing and for good measure, from the February/March 1991 edition of Garden Railway World, there is an article on the Ffestiniog's Harlech Castle. Although the body has been rebuilt from it's original Baguley Drewery form, the drawing gives uesful dimensions for the frames.

They will all be in the post today.

Regards,

Tony.
