what year does nw-2 usat starting makin in?

Not sure of the exact year but the NW-2 was the first loco to be made offshore.
They moved manufacturing offshore in 1995.

hi spike....
tht it so interesting coz my nw-2 is over 10 yrs old!!....coz it was printed with xmas livery in 2ooos tht why one of member re-spray it satin black for weathering...then i saw something interesting inside the paint on the side of the cab and saw it was numbers is 2000
think it make in 2000s

Yes you are correct Steven that loco you bought from me was a XMAS 2000 edition that is why it was numbered 2000

I seem to remeber the NW2 being avaiable at the beginning of the 90s if not a bit earlier.

The real thing was first made in 1939 and produced up to 1949 a total of 1143 were built!

wow..THKS stevelewis...yes tht why i notice it when i was weathering it and saw 2000 on it so thought it the numbers of the switcher.....
so my nw-2 from u are exellent runner,,i hope u dont mind tht i have been modfied it,extra details,lettering aslo weatherin it plus numbers is 2ooo!!
so i will post the photos of nw-2 this week when it done...it look realism...
so b the way nw-2 are in atlantic coast line.......
