The Mohawk Valley Railroad has recently acquired a Bachmann 0-4-0 gas switcher, which comes complete with an 8 pin DCC decoder socket and decoder holder.
Question is…

Which 8 pin sound decoder could be used for this engine?

Cheers

Hi Martin, not this particular loco, but I ended up fitting an ESU Loksound 8-pin into the factory 8 pin interface on a Bachmann Lyn. This loco already had a small speaker factory fitted. Seemed to work all OK.

Thanks Andy, that was my next question…

I rewire my engines to enable the use of any manufacturer decoder. For smaller low current locos I like the Zimo MX645 as it has 1.2 amp, 24 volt, and has the PL22 add on to give 1.5 amp and a second DC power source. They now have a newer version now that is 16 bit audio and 2 inputs for reed relays on the ties.
