Hi Mike
Been along time but it was so nice to see and hear the loco running round the garden had a faultless run yesterday even handled the curves with out any problems will have to get Chloe to do me a video to go on youtube . Do hope the animals your getting in your garden don't cause you many problems .

You bet that I'm glad it's all sorted Dave but not as glad as Sara who's had to put up with it all .

I don't recall any mention of the package being insured. If it was, then Richie could have taken action through those channels. I did not mean to place blame on USA Trains directly. However, if the damage was their fault, these forums are a good place to air the problem.
Hi Dan
G scale just doesn't seem to be like modelling HO/OO scale where you can just pop to your local model shop and choose your loco from several in stock and have it test run before you buy , with G scale your buying blind relaying on the suppler sending you a working model . In the case of my SD70 loco the damage to the motor block may had happen in transit but over problems like the ditch lights and poor wiring dropped out windows just go down to USAT poor quality control in China . The shop that imported it for me just sent the package onto me a think without checking it first so you could say that they were at fault for sending out a damaged loco . Then I could say I was at fault for keeping the loco and not returning it .

I'm glad to hear you managed to get it all sorted out in the end Richie! :) I know how frustrating that must've been, especially after such a long wait for these kinds of items.

I also can completely understand your desire to hold on to it in the end too as it seems like specific US outline products are getting harder and harder to source in the UK with each year that passes.

Had a real good look at the layout and have discovered that we have `burrowers`.
We have had many animal incursions from the Country Park next door, foxes, rabbits, hedgehogs, squirrels etc but never have had the ballast continually being burrowed into.
There is no `carp` buried so it ain`t the cats. Mmmmm..

Rats eh? I had better get little Mogli onto larger prey, pretty pronto. He has brought us a present practically every night. He must be decimating the mamalian population of the Country Park...but no rats...so far!

we've told Chloe she should study and become a vet

Pet insurance. My Izzy, unlike her predecessor for 20 years, shows no interest in such delicacies as freshly cooked chicken brest every evening. Just dried food, won't touch anything else. Strange. Money saved goes on..........pet insurance. Just one of those fixed overheads. Like gas for the live steam locos.
Max.
P.S. Izzy resolutely refuses to grow into her ears. They just are.........so Oriental. This thread is now officaly moored off the Azores.
