A 13 year old railway

It could only be one man. Welcome home.

Mh6 rolls into Gstadt on goods duty after the long haul up the gradient of the mountain line from Wieselburg.
This loco can negotiate a single segment of R1 track as it is restricted by the Engerth arrangement of the tender. I relaid sections of track to R3 and R2 to enable this loco to be put into service.

It looks a superb loco - real vintage character. Welcome back Paul.

Paul, Thanks for visiting the EG&SNNR thread. Thought it was you when I read your profile..... and then looked at this thread which confirmed it was you. Brings back pleasant memories seeing your pictures.

I only restarted posting on here during the summer..... but then I had Stockers here building a nice big shed for me and prodding me to start posting some pictures. Its a real shame that many of the old crew are no longer posting here.

Seeing your pictures of the Mh6 reminds me that I've got mine under wraps waiting for me to pluck up the courage to install the sound decoder that I bought many moons ago - mine is the version with the spark arrestor on the chimney.

Mm I think the old crew have fragmented.

Mel is a member of the Narrow gauge garden railway group on Facebook - his line looks better than ever.

Regards the Mh6 - as I understand it from Bruce and Andy the electric version of the loco is fitted with a 12 volt motor so the decoder would need to be set for a lower voltage.
My loco started out as live steam but I sold the LS chassis to a guy in Holland and fitted a Rugens 0-8-0 chassis to it.

I`m really pleased with the way it has turned out - prodigious pulling power and suitably weathered.

Pail,

Your Mh6 certainly does look good!!

Mine was very badly built by the UK Regner agent but I was very lucky to have it rebuilt by WP&YR and have it fitted with a proper upgraded motor supplied by Regner. A picture posing on the EG&SNNR:

and the only time the loco has run, on analogue, at the Romney Marsh MES:

As much as I like mine I think I still prefer Bruce`s version with the red wheels!!

Loving that Regner Mh6, Paul, and great job on mating it to the Rugen running gear!

I had a long think at G-Rail this year about whether to go for the kit version (electric) one that was on the bring-and-buy, I think the seller (who was in turn selling it on behalf of someone else) would have taken a reasonable offer but no-one could be 100% certain that everything was there in the box (it was just a huge mass of tissue-wrapped bits). Eventually I decided there wasn't a lot of point, aside from the worry about possible missing parts I would never have got round to finding time to build it. I think it had changed hands several times as an unbuilt kit, with no-one having the time or courage to actually start making it up! I don't think it sold at G-Rail in the end, but I believe it has ended up at GRS as a commission sale item (at a much higher price than was being asked for it at G-Rail!), not sure if anybody has gone for it yet.....

Jon.

For what it`s worth Jon, the 3 people I know that have bought the electric version have had problems with them and to be honest when mine was live steam it was a swine to light it properly.

Anyway it turned out well in the end as I got a good price for the chassis.
