Talk about missleading..........
The text says yellow and the picture shows GREEN:rolf::rolf::rolf:

Maybe he's colorblind?

Uuugh! This is another marketing tactic common with larger sellers on Feebay, they have 10 items listed seperatly, but only use one generic photo for all of them. As a seller its one tactic that I hate and the description leaves alot to be desired, if your going to post something for sale you can darn well post specific pics and information for each different listing so the buyer knows what they are getting. This is just plain lazy on the sellers part.

[align=center]I cant see what the problem anyone has with ebay,

if it is what you want at the price you can afford bid on it,

if you want a museum peice to shove under yer bed for ye old age well maybe you need to do some home work first,

if its not fun then stop doin it, give us all a break maybe the prices will drop so we can all enjoy it more, and who really cares who makes a peice of plastic ?????

I've had enough of this old toot and I am addressing this to those who might find that the cap fits.

I joined GSM quite late on and sadly towards the end of it's unfortunate demise. In that respect I don't have the in depth knowledge that some appear to have as to the ins an outs of the accusations and counter claims made in the last days of GSM. Which from my moderating perspective makes things a little more simplistic.

I have my own personal opinions about the demise of GSM and the obvious mal-treatment that was evident at the end and I will park that.

So here is my position as a moderator (not necessarily that of my colleagues). The best analology I can give is like a new pub landlord. You may hear from some regular punters that "so and so is no good and ought to be barred". That's as may be, but its a new place and lets see.

Most of the regular members that come here are courteous and a pleasure to have there contributions. However as with every pub there are always those smart rrrses that will try and hold court and disturb those who have just dropped in for their virtual pint.

A good landlord keeps and eye on them and eventually if they choose not to behave they get shown the door. You can then usulally find them in the pub up the road spouting off about their old place that they use to think was the dogs' and how it has gone downhill and what a pariah the guvnor is.

Well I have seen over the last year who falls into the rabble rousing camp and it has n't gone unoticed. Time and again I perceive certain types pitch up rarely and chuck pebble in to the pond just to see how big the waves get.

Don't take the mods as mugs, we are here to further the best interest of the site and the majority of the good people that come here to share in wholesome social intercourse.

If you want to go chucking pint glasses about dont be suprised if you get short shrift and shown the door, and dont give me all that "what about free speech nonsence". There are rules up which make it pretty clear what is expected and if you have signed up here, then you have agreed to abide by them, so stop grizzling about censorship.

If you behaved in the first place then you would nt get taken to task.

That is my 2p. Try not to end up in the nick for drunk and disordely please.

Very well said Wod !!! I just wished it had worked "back in the day" I can still feel the bruises from those last few weeks!! and I must say it's nice to be able to Read GSM and not have to deal with the hassle all the time. As an aside my ex missus said one of our problems was I spent more time and energy at GSM than I did with her! so watch out for yourselves you moderater's....................Paul...............

Bitter me?? Yes please

Never a truer word.

There those who just revel in LGB alone and those who revel in using LGB (plus other makes of course)
If you are a collector then being single minded is an obvious important facet of character to have.
But when you are playing with pieces of plastic ( I am excluding the real steam members here), then the idea that one brand's superiority over another having any importance is pretty remote unless it about the manufacturing finesse.
There has been the analogy made already, of moderators being like landlords running a pub and therefore exercising the same 'watchful eye' over the customers (members). Well the sound of men droning on about the superiority of one make of car/computer/powertool/houseprice/ etc etc is what happens in pubs....but it is always the same people saying the same things and never changing their stand point or showing flexibility.
G scale trains are boys toys...end of story....unless of course you are a well heeled collector...

End of rant

ooooh errr

Can we move on, we infinitely dissected these arguments last time round...

Well the easiest way to move on surely is to stop debating the issue here.

Basically stop posting on the thread, thread dies out, we all move on.

Simples as our meerkat friend would say.

(and yes this will be my last post on this thread).

I have to say, although it has its knockers, I am a great fan of Ebay and have bought all manner of things on it from 99 pence (including postage) to a car for my daughter at £3,000. The essential truth, before you bid on anything, is to do your research. Know the product, know what the 'right price' should be, and, set your limit. It is true that Ebay is not the absolute bargain basement it used to be. There have been many times that, before I have made a bid, I've done a seach on't 'tinternet and come up with cheaper prices from a non-Ebat source, especially when postage is taken into account.

Know your subject, know your prices, there are still bargains to be had. The bottom line.....you don't have to bid.

Er, ahem, being a profi publican I did say this in posting 15 of page 1. As wodders wightly sez, modding is like being a good landlord, listen to some poop, let others speak poop, let the poop go in one ear and out of the other, but when a rowdy shouts poop that upsets the regulars it's 'sorry mate, were closing - please leave.'
As a landlord I can confirm that the best way to keep the good & regular clients is to show the occcasional dissenter the door, there are other addreses the said person can go to.
In other wordz, Wodz wight

Nights are def drawing in, spending cuts are biting, Nimrods are being cancelled, Ark Royal is being scrapped.

I hope this adds some useful information to this totally shagged out thread.

About time this subject was well and truly put to bed. I'm starting to get well and truly fedup with the same old thing over and over again.

Rant over
