ebay mike's excursion destinations.

Mini Mike arrived in Wuppertal. He was very tired from the journey. Then came the next shock. I picked him up from the post shop on my e-bike. He had to sit on the pannier rack and ride along. Today he is resting for the time being. Tomorrow he can go to my workshop. He'll be allowed to ride the suspension railway for the first time at the weekend. In 10 days' time, I'm taking him to Hanover to visit the local tram museum. (Don't worry! He can go with me in the car and doesn't have to cycle there.) He'll visit the G-gauge tram model layout. Maybe he'll also make it to a friend of mine with a garden railway layout. It depends on the weather.

Wow, just seen the pictures and what a trip round all those lovely trams and depots, but I see he is up to his old tricks chatting to the ladies and visiting places of ill repute - lucky Mike!
 
Ebay Mike felt very comfortable, even though an appointment had to be cancelled due to illness, he would like to go on the next adventure.

Quite honestly I'm starting to wonder whether anyone wants to receive Mini Mike any more.

Mini Mike finished his business in Wuppertal in early June. His host over there, Schienenkönig, asked in this thread who would receive Mini Mike next. Apparently Railaddict responded by PM, but wasn't available.

On 7 sep 2024 I made a post in this thread. EVERYONE who ever expressed an interest in having Mike over but hasn't had had him yet, is paged in that post. As far as I know, that means all those people have had a notification for it.

No one has replied. So.... ??? Am I missing something?
 
You're not missing a thing. Forgetfulness is the norm in old age, which most of us are, I think. I, for one would wait for warmer weather, as I don't think Mini Mike would have a pleasant visit to my line which is usually not operator friendly until at least mid April, if that.
 
Ebay Mike is very sad that he can't get out of here. He's just a British gentleman.
But then he hears about a paint shop that specializes in trams and buses.
A Routmaster is about to be painted there. So I took him there, and he got homesick again.
The painter knew that there was another Routemaster in Wuppertal.

He went there and was surprised at what he found, but unfortunately he got very, very homesick....

Today I heard on the Radio Wuppertal that an old English double-decker bus has disappeared. And... Ebay Mike was nowhere to be found either. ....
May be he is on the way to:

Rumour has it, he's made a booking for several sessions at the exclusive rooftop jacuzzi bar and club....

Possibly depends on whether immigration consider he is being trafficked?
From when I met him, the only document (other than his trusty newspaper) that I know he had, was a c-o-v-i-d vaccination card. - I wonder if he still has it?

He didn't have it on him when he visited the Flamingo Tramway. As a VIP, he got waved through. Maybe we should tighten security a bit...
 
It was tiny, and in the bottom of his travelling case, so either lost or you missed it..

Unlike the box car, there is not much room for souvenirs.

EBay Mike is more than welcome to make a return visit to the CFR. The new staff would love to meet him. We also have plenty of new locomotives for him to have a footplate ride .
