Europeanizing a Liliput Diesel Lok V3

Re:Europeanizing a Lilliput Diesel Lok V3

Looking great, but you haven't finished yet! How about a driver, and while you're in the cab could I suggest a bit of internal wear-and-tear - the look of muddy boots on the floor, a spanner or two on the control panel area, perhaps some gun-metal grey on the transmission hood/motor cover and a brown "leather" top for the seat.

The attached pictures may be helpful for colour and "texture" (they were taken through the cab windows while hanging on with the other hand, so some of their quality is not as good as I'd have wished), but hopefully they'll be useful.

They were taken on the CFBS in France some years ago, but I can't recall which loco - the colour suggests the ex-Blanc-Argent diesel.

Thanks guys and 'vasim' - they're excellent links, I hadn't realised the StLB had such a small shunter - and yes, the orange is inspired by that line!

Giles - thanks you for the photos, wonderful and plenty of inspiration. There is a driver though already, a Bachmann Scenecraft figure slightly modified...

Thanks for the driver's picture, James. I've got one of those figures and want to modify him. Yours provides plenty of food for thought. Glad the diesel cab photos will be useful.

No problem Giles - this model is the one I keep coming back to, making small adjustments and improvements as i go... You can see a few between the more recent post and the ones outside the engine shed (black buffers and handrails, red balance weights)... so I will revisit it for brakes and cab detailing in the future.
