Fake glacier

Yes, and guess which way the loco is going, albeit slowly.
DB, CFL and SNCF all work this way.

It's ok though, he has a hard hat on to keep him safe..

Twice the force, twice as quick! Seriously though, the engines would really have to ram the coaches for him to be in real danger, although if I had that job I'd be out of the way!

They are moving together, the shunter is waiting for the locos to couple to the train.
No. The nutter stands down there while things go 'clang'.
Didn't see it here, but on the SNCF the driver has to hand down the key (loco can''t move) which is the key the shunter needs to lock up, but yer man in orange is still between loco & train

Einstein wouldnt agree. Sorry, dad was a science teacher.

Back to the, er, kind of plot.
This is the project (postie with a bad back) all set to be tweaked. The seats are out to be painted as they should be roughly the colour of the rolling stock, with white headrests. Note the metal wheels (extravagance!) and the logo waiting to be applied then sprayed onto the loco.

A few people including staff for the restyourump wagon, bits'n'bobs to try and remember where to put afterwards, some seats need cutting to allow for knees. Somehow I want to put LEDs on the tables, have to ask my brother about that one, he is the resident techie of the family:

More of the same with strangely similar passengers:

What have I let myself in for? :rolf::rolf::rolf:

That's a fair pile of bits there! Looking forward to the finished train.

As to the twice as quick, maybe not then, but definately makes the outcome twice as sure if something went wrong!

Sorry to be a pain but that deisel requires pantographs. I have two sat here awaiting a donor loco and yours fits the bill.

They're yours if you want them

Not the red ones

BTW it looks quite passable:thumbup:

Phil, if Pugwash doesn't want the pantographs could I buy them from you?
Tim

If I were in your shoes I would investigate detailing the 218 , rather than adding a pantograph to it . I,ve heard tell of a supplier of the exhaust pipes on this forum & I'm sure other parts must be available to detail it further which could be added as funds permit. Or until your can get an appropriate electric loco.
I've always thought that running electric loco's from an overhead power supply is the purest or nearest to prototype form of railway modeling that exists, followed closely by coal fired live steam. the major drawback being that the catenary is too fragile to withstand the assault of flying footballs , boisterous dogs, deep snow & so on. Looking forward to seeing the end result.
Cheers Garry

I wonder if you could put a couple of spacers under the carriages to lift them a little on their bogies, or are they not as tall as a 218 in real life anyway?
