Do you have a garden shed as part of your railway ?

  • Yes, but I wish I hadn't bothered with a shed

I can remember a large shed retailer that was sited right next to the A3.
It had a huge advertising sign that caused many chortles to passing drivers that apparently the shed company was totally oblivious to...

On the subject of sheds I need to get one roughly 10 foot square, does anyone have any recommendations where to get one from?

You could just get one that is as close to size as you can get then Mod it to size. My 20 x 8 started life as an 8 x 10. I used both the sides for the full length and built a new bit for the other side. New strengthening was put into the top which was tiled. Oh yes I also added an 8 x 6 to it to make it an L Shaped Shed. Fair bit of work, but at least I got what I wanted.

I have a shed/garage (my shed) that houses 2 cars, a 6x4' trailer, my dirty work bench area, on the side is a covered area(aka the pergola) that has the BBQ and SHMBO's outdoor dining furniture in addition to the railway main marshaling yard.
Inside her shed aka the house I have real estae rights that allow the "man cave" to exist where I have my hobby computer, my electronics work table and train storage bookcases.
Her "girl cave" is across the hallway, but as I have the "good computer" she has visiting rights to allow her to look at facebook.
Both sheds have a beer fridge with her shed'd fridge being re stocked as required from the bulk store in the garage/shed.
The cat has its shed in the back room.
So all in all 2 people plus cat live in a semblance of harmony.
