Well, I suppose it's a question of what you're brought up on - in my case, after tea, my mother would read to my brother and I; a variety of books, from Winnie-the-Pooh (and my eldest son later received a copy of that in Latin as a school prize) to Arthur Ransome, and various others that I don't rememberI can't work out if this thread is merely drifting, or drunk.
