Lazy Grange Bay 3...a new start

Love it - I have an unbuilt Büssing truck sitting in my huge ToDo pile (it has been there a decade!) - do you put LEDs at the lights or use fibre optics to transmit light to the clusters?
LEDs , the speed controlers have loads of light functionality in them..I could go mad and add indicators, but they work every time you move the steering. Not a fan really of them like that, thank you..

Are, there are special 12v LEDs now that are miniscule and the wires are like hairs - forget the name but you can get 'em on evilbay

The big problem is that the leads are so fine, even I have trouble holding them in my ageing fingers :eek:

They certainly do the job at the lamp end - the wiring isn't always so beautiful :oops:

It's been a while , but I've had other things on my mind..we whent to see friends, Tony (eain) Green steam in Lincolnshire this weekend, and while visiting he showed me were the pub was..

Love the pub! And all your buildings, though your findings are a horrid reminder of all the repairs I myself shall have to face in the Spring, as I keep seeing bits falling off outside. How much scenery, vehicles etc do you leave out year-round?

I take in the very good cars, vans ect at the end of autumn. Now here's the thing..I am always looking for new ones, so this year's cars van, caravans ect get moved down the pecking order..the caravans have all been replaced this year, as the windows had a ll gone yellow with the sun.,so for example, so the ones you saw this year will replace the new ones for winter..the latest ones will go out in spring

It's been a while, but I have been distracted...things should be returning to normal soon..Screenshot_20240208_094048_Facebook.jpg

Well done Mike, I shall have to go out and buy a copy....

Great article, Mike, lavishly illustrated. A delight to share the cover with you, Sir.

Great article showing a magnificient model railway. Do you still have a picture or two of how you constucted the baseboard? The

pictures from the beginning of this thread seem to have been lost in the ether.
Sadly photobucke** decided to end free accounts and demand cash for access to the photos,

Not the best..but
1st one is as I moved in...
2nd is as now..
3rd ect is showing the Black weed membrane, and concrete flags/blocks cemented in position, and 4 inch fence posts used as legs ..like a table , I made each section, as a table onto the next pair of legs , using 3x2 tantalise timber as cross members (framing) with 5inch wide, 1/2 deep tantalise birds as a top..after learning the hard way marine ply isn't waterproof when flat...

Hope this helps Screenshot_20240208_214613_Facebook.jpg20230817_142558.jpgScreenshot_20240208_220700_Facebook.jpgScreenshot_20240208_220806_Facebook.jpgScreenshot_20240208_220822_Facebook.jpg

Yes, very helpful. It makes more sense now. I hope you discovered the problem with the marine plywood before you had to redo everything! That one photo looks quite a mess.

Both articles are great! There's also an interesting diesel-electric loco build which is a different approach. Well worth the subscription

Ahh..the ply lasted 5 years , and started sagging, and when I walked on it ..I put my foot through it. So I had to re do it all. .learning curve ..
