I think Mike has gone bananas. :giggle:

mike mike how do you scale up the building from the photograph? The dimensions all seem to be bang on.
Rack of the eye..
Honestly, I look at what I want to make,
Think it through, how do I want it to look,
For example, this is a very old building .so it's a lot smaller, than more modern buildings, by looking at building around us, the older building tend to be smaller , have lower roofs, smaller doors.
I have a ruff idea in my head, of what I want to achieve, I draw the floor plan out on a sheet of foam board, and try it in position, this way I can tweet it to fit in it's desired spot,. similarly I can cut out the main walls,as blanks, no details on them .and try it ..it also helps me being the same scale as the g scale figure

Well I doff my hat to you Mike, I was expecting to hear how you used a technical method to enlarge the measurements, doing it 'freehand' is difficult at the best of times.
It is true about people having been shorter way back when, evolution and better food hs caused us to literally grow up.

There's an open air Museum in Holland - can't for the life of me remember where, was taken there by coach on the way from somewhere to somewhere - that has a lot of old, preserved buildings, and in some houses, the beds are constructed as large recesses in the walls, and they are not long enough for modern man ....... or woman :nod:

There is similar not far away in Germany, it is an entire village with everything from the tiniest house - with those same bed arrangements - to a small barn. I shall have to again and photograph it for Mike. We have also visited a preserved village in the Netherlands, the difference is it is on an island so a boat is needed and people (who act as guides) actually live there.

Possibly Hoorn where there is an open air museum and also a stream tram museum.
