Mike, its just stunning. So nice to see your developments. Pity about the weather slowing you down. Your terraces look great too.

Mike, we're all envious......

but da bridge........... should it have decking between the tracks (where in the UK it would be called the six foot) but under the tracks would be open ??:thinking::thinking::thinking:

On the other hand, if that's a road going underneath, then it should be totally decked in. Some fully decked bridges are even ballasted.

You can see that I have become somewhat boring in my analysis of bridges during my commuting travels :yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn:

This is a great site I love watching it develop.
But what is ?alloy bord? ? is it a trade name? and the background to the arches is that ?Corflut? the twin wall Polypropylene sheet for conversion into signage. Then the arch itself ? from the pic?s I can see no sign of a cut through the twin wall?
It all looks very good, but I am intrigued by the materials.

I also love the Bus Shelter, is this a hint that we may be going to see an Art Deco School or Cinema soon

hi martin, i will (hopefully) try to explain..
the alloy bord, plastic sheets are all off cuts from a freindly sign maker surplyer
the alloy bord, is a sheet off 2mm rubberished black plastic? sandwiched between 1mm alluimiom, it what sigh makers use front signs, i think.. its strong, light, and easy to cut with a jig saw..the plastic sheets as far as i know, again, off cuts, are uva foam bord, its very light, easy to cut, craft knife, and easy to score lines into.. as for the arches, its was /is done by useing a master template, i made.. out off the foam bord, the arches are a medium pan lid diamiter, i set it out, drew it in in pencil,, so that the end section off walling on each sheet off plastic, added up to a mid section ..so when u jioned two sheets up, the arches carreid on with the same spaceing.. took me the best part off a day to get it right, but worth the effort, now, as it all looks uniformed.. as for the cinnima, i hadnt planed on one.. the school ,well, thats a differnt story
P1090860.jpg

trade name for the alloy sheet is
Probond,matt,aluminium composite panel,international iso9001 standard cerififed
trade name for the foam bord is
Palfoam tm low weight foamed pvc sheet...www.palram.com
hope thishelps,
mike

Thanks for the info. That board sounds ideal, both weather proof and pliable now I know what to look for I can go foraging. Before I left I built a small retaining wall using (free) dutifully hand made red rubbers, but the end result looks totally naff.

As for the Art Deco comment, when I made it, it was somewhat tong in cheek but I have been thinking about it all day. A ?Firestone? or ?Hoover Building? type industrial building would really be something a bit different and your layout could take it, with the right glazing and lighting they would really turn heads both day & night. The brilliant white against you grass would look stunning not to mention the concrete fence posts.

glad to have helped martin, its what its all about.. and that conreat fensce post not a post.. its art:thumbup:shame we dont make things like that anymore..
well today, ive got more rattle cans. last 2:nail:left in the £ shop..
and it was time to cut out a nother arch set, this time, its a internal arch, for the corner block off ian.s widened bridge.. so in effect, its only 3 arches, and a bit longer at the ends.. got a good way through makeing it, before the rain stoped play/instalation, but seeing as martin asked, i took some photos.. used the master copie, to mark out hight, and the 3 arches.. cut out the shape/arches/to sizes hight wise... lenght will be cut , neara to instalation.. scribed in the stone work..
