Lazy Grange Bay 3...a new start

That trio of shops is just superb, there's no other word for it. The patterning on the brickwork, the way the shops are angled, the detail of street names etc, all superb.

And the photos really capture a spring day on a railway, and the way model railway and real world merge into one is uncanny.

hi mike
as always your buildings are brilliant ,but I have not seen an engine shed yet though .I have been given a 4ft x 4ft sheet of foam board .so hurry up so I can have a clue what I am doing . I can not copy perfection unless I see a picture

I have to say that this thread leaves me with conflicting feelings.
Admiration as to Mike's skill and dedication (I showed the photos to my wife, who was convinced that it was a full size railway that had been photographed), but also depression, as I am never going to have the time, dedication, money or skill to construct anything at all comparable.
With luck, I'll end up with a big dog-bone loop, and a couple of sidings, with a loco and wagons running round the edge of the Lawn and through part of the flowerbeds(a forced necessity, to get a big enough radius to run my mallet). Buildings, landscaping, etc. etc. will be a no no.
My loop will be in the order of 35 to 40 yards long, so trains of length will be possible, but the standard of Mike's work leaves me open mouthed.

alec, never say never mate, time is all we have, skill comes with pratice, and imagination, well , you wil have to do that your self, it keeps me amused, and entertianed, when it stops being fun, and become a job, its time to stop.. ive been on a learning curve..this is

Alec, Mike's railway is superb , I love looking at his pictures on here too , but there are convincing looking railways with a minimal amount of buildings on them ,so there is more than one approach. Don't put your own efforts down and any railway is better than no railway

Mike's L.G.B. is top of my list for things to do and visit when we get over to England again! Meanwhile, I'll have to content myself with those excellent photographic scenes.

Always worth a visit but as someone who has been a couple of times, I can say that he prefers muffins over donuts but a good cream cake is always a winner:bigsmile::thumbup::bigsmile:

A whole cream cake and a few others besides is best policy.

Mike!
Urgent safety issue!
The top bushes on the offside wishbones and steering kingpin on that Bedford OB are badly worn.
Don't you be letting any passengers on it, tell them to go by train!
