Wow it is looking very nice!
Are the destination boards backlit perforated sheets or actual LED screens I wonder?
Any news on the type of decoder yet?
Keith

The destination boards are backlit and exchangable, a sheet with various destinations will be included from what I have read. A LCD display would be nice but very expensive 8D.

I have not read anything about the new decoder, will have to wait and see.

More pictures, the destination board on one of the sides:

@Phil - the only question is whether you like it £1200 enough. I foresee some difficult housekeeping negotiations ahead...

I've always believed you can earn more money..
Is that simple enough..? :D
Plus the Misses isn't really bothered what i spend, as long as i'm Happy..
I think she's the one.. :rolf:

@Phil - not so easy for those of us who have retired*... [Actually, it can probably be fitted within the 2014 budget, provided there aren't too many other items of traction on the slate].

Have looked at the threads and the u tube video and this looks really good. I presume it will be built in Hungary. I don't think £1200 is over the top for a three car unit. Could I afford it if I pay myself back at £100 month for 12months? Oh I want one!!!

Just picked up the latest (October) edition of Railway Modeller. GRS are advertising the Allegra. £1541.74 with sound, £1284.80 without. Doesn't actually say it's in stock, but it would seem to indicate it's not far off?

Also, 20% off Train Line coaches (all models in stock).
Blimey my Allegro was well cheaper than the LGB one!

Times was 'ard.. We didn't know any better..

Could have had a Maxi.

Or if you were 'racy', an Avenger Tiger.

...and in 1972 my mustard yellow Austin 1300GT was £1300 - £1 per cc!! - AKJ802K - first car I ever owned.....

The good old days when we used to make cars (rose tinted glasses mode off)

We still do in large quantities, with 80% going to export. Even better, they tend to start in the morning.

Those latest production pictures are interesting.
A couple of things I noticed:
- seem to be two types of pin connections at the rear of the chassis--either 7 or 13 pin--maybe some are the digital versions?
- I like the way they cast the weight to act as a chassis stiffener
- those Buhler motors in the box look much bigger than normal

I sure am looking forward to getting mine, but I'm not holding my breath that the digital versions will arrive on our side of the pond before Christmas.

Keith

I think the size of the motors might just be a perspective effect - they are the closest thing to the camera.

That would make fitting a decoder awkward as the wiring harness will have to upgraded too. Would one end be unpowered and one powered? Could be a reason for the different pin arrangements.

This is a pretty complicated locomotive wrt wiring, when you think about it, considering there are those light boards to deal with and the pantographs in each car for the digital version. Too much for my tiny brain to figure out!
