LGB stainz smoke gen prob

if yours has a insert, it should have printed numbers not raised ones, and should have a D gearbox with the space on the bottom for a magnet. it may say on the bottom direct decoder,if so this is the most recent version and Iwouldn't use it on pulse width, if it's the version thats not direct decoder ie no electronics inside the boiler it will be fine.

either way will date from mid 90's to present if has a insert

if i saw pictures could be more precise
 
It has got printed no:s and a D on the chassie and it looks to have a rectangle space on the chassie underneeth . not sure if its got anything in the boiler tho il have a look when i open it again

This Stainz is easy to date as it has a date sticker on the bottom. The 2 outer digits show the year, 1992

Some Stainz locos are MTS ready. If so it should have a sticker underneath with 6 dots on it. Your one doesn't appear to, but it might just be that the sticker has come off.

MTS ready locos can be digitised by fitting the 55021 decoder. I wrote a thread which can be found here;

The other clue is the 20212 number. This is the same model as I own. This isn't listed separately on the Champex Linden Produktdatenbank, so my guess is that this loco is from a LGB passenger or freight set and is unlikely to be MTS fitted....
 
same stainz as i have jim . but i fitted a chip into it. and it has the same smoke unit yellow and brown wires, only my smoke is burnt out.:bigsmile:
 
Ok cool i think im going to stick with analoge for the time being digital will come at some stage when funds alow

not had a email, but they accidently didnt get posted when the step daughter took the post out, i've only just seen the packet, will put in post in morning
 
Right looks like il have to buy a new one of these as nothings landed in the post so il start again . im runing analog whats the best way to get good smoke at a steady speed? if i need to convert somthing what do i do ?

Sparky could you let me know if a smoke unit is coming my way if not do you have a 24v unit you could spare as im told thats the best way to get what im looking for .

No I live in Gravesend but Ireland is appartly where they send all mislabeled or non delivered mail to be resorted.

Well thanks to sparky (lee) i now have a smoking stainz again (well when i fit the unit i will ) after royal mails uselessness lee tracked down the missing smokers and got em on there way to me , what a top fella good karma to you fine sir , hopefully il get some pics up over the weekend of the stainz with a habit again
