After long discussions this morning and hearing the new guidelines from the Government last evening, it is felt that we have little choice but to postpone Festival which was planned for May 30th.

It is looking clear that this original date will fall at the height of the Covid19 virus, and as we are wishing to make every effort to keep everybody safe we have decided to hold the festival later in the year.

So we are pleased to announce that the Llangollen Garden Railway Festival 2020 will be held on the 3rd of October this year. I really hope that you will still be with us and that together we can make it the great success which it was proving to be.

Kind regards

Llangollen Garden Railway Festival
Team

A hard decision but a wise one, given the circumstances - so well done to Mike and the Team. it will be something to look forward to after all this mess is behind us. G*d knows we'll be needing something to cheer us up by then, eh?

I will look at re-scheduling - assuming I am still here ;)

Sorry to hear that, was not able to attend but I sincerely think that you have made the right decision and hope that it has not cost too much money to a new start organising team.

T shirts, posters, pop up banners and leaflets, adverts and adverting banners, all made with the date on them..
They can be replaced.
Our friends, family's and every one elase
Carnt...
We have to weather the storm.

As far as I'm aware, at this moment in time. It's all systems go

:clap::clap::clap:

But, remember, it is in a 'different country', so their rules apply, not ours..

As of today, "Conference Centre's" and "mass gathering's" are still prohibited.. :(

But, hey! - All this "shopping money" I have been receiving, is (metaphorically) in a biscuit tin, under the bed. :):):lipssealed::):)
See you all there! :party::clap::party:

Unfortunately, I am writing to you this evening with the sad news that the Llangollen Garden Railway Festival 2020 rescheduled for 3rd of October 2020 will not be going ahead as planned. The Event Manager Mr Keith Potts has been informed that the venue, where the show was due to be held, will remain closed until at least January 2021.

This is totally beyond our control and we feel the disappointment that no doubt you will feel too.

With the current uncertainty surrounding the Covid19 virus, it will be difficult to arrange a definite date for 2021 but we are hoping that we will be able to arrange another show for next year, depending on the prevailing circumstances.

We thank you for your continued support and will keep you updated on any developments as they happen.

In the meantime, please take care of yourselves and each other!

Kind regards
The Llangollen Garden Railway Festival Team.

A disappointment to be sure, but not unexpected. I also foresee difficulties with the Peterborough Shows as well sadly.

Unfortunately I think you're right, Jon. TBH I'm not too sure if fancy going into a packed hall and certainly trying to chat to anyone through masks doesn't appeal either

To be honest if they did go ahead I feel mask wearing should be compulsory for all safety, a condition that I for one would be more than happy to conform with.

As we’re sure you’re already aware, the coronavirus (Flu-19) pandemic has meant that the organisers have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the Llangollen Garden Railway Festival again, due to take place on 15thMay 2021. While we know this is disappointing and frustrating, we are sure that you understand the reasons why we have taken this decision.

When looking at the event industry as a whole, most of the larger events have now postponed until 2022 because of the uncertainty and the increased costs of putting on a show with the associated Flu regulation requirements. With this in mind, we have taken the decision to reschedule the event to Saturday 14th May 2022.

The event organisers are committed to putting on the best possible show next year making it a must for all large scale railway enthusiasts and a great day out for all the family. There will be lots of things to see and do from looking at one of the big display layouts or pick up a bargain at one of our many traders that how would be happy to help you or just sit down with friends and family having a cup tea from the cafe or something stronger from the bar. Don’t worry we didn’t forget the kids we hopefully will have a kids zone for them to play in and a ride on railway outside for them to take a ride.

We hope you all keep safe and well and we look forward to seeing you all on the Saturday 14th May 2022, so please add the date in your diary.

Kind Regards
Keith
