In case anybody needs to know - the scones in the café at Llangollen station are the finest I've ever ott. So good were the first, that cousin Sam and I had another one each...

A beautifully preserved railway station, steam trains just outside, the heavy clunk of carriage doors closing and the station-master's whistle...how atmospheric is that?

However your pronounce it, 'steam trains live at Llangollen'.

Now with over 50 confirmed traders from the very biggest to the very newest names in the hobby, we hope that you will find something that makes you smilelgrf-v2.jpg

I would love to have gone but, as usually is the case when something of interest going on here, I shall be in the US with the family (coronavirus permitting).

David

Sorry, but I can't help recalling a sketch in That WasThe Week That Was (I think?).. Saturday night I would reckon? David Frost, and others...
There was a sketch with Jon Pertwee, as a OTT Welshman, and they were talking about the Eisteddfod'

JP " Ah! Yes! .. The Eisteddfod.. Comes form the Old Welsh, you know?"
(With venom)"Eistedd, meaning Bored, and Fod, meaning Stiff!"

(With apologies to those over the Dyke..)

Luckily..

Our religion is 'trains' so not a problem..

See what I did there? - Back on-track (and thread). :):nod:

I have to admit that I've always enjoyed those eisteddfodai that I've ever been to. Horses for courses, right?

They have horse-racing as well!;)

Now, if they had 5" gauge ride-on railways.. I might be interested. :)
Horse racing at the Eisteddfod - and it's Pavarotti at 2:1, Carreras 4:5 odds on favourite and Domingo 8:1 outsider :D:D

Web site is being updated,

Nope, at the Llangollen model train show, as you know, of course. ;)

And BTW, there are THREE letter 'd' in Eisteddfod. Even when it's held in Llangollen. :)

Msg. to Mike:

'We' seem to have drifted a little.. Sorry! - I, for one, would not be upset if you wished to tidy the thread up a little. :):nod:

As long as, we are talking about the Llangollen garden railway festival, it's fine, more talking...
