I wonder if they'll sell them over here.Just what we need.

An unusual, but strangely appealing, design. I wouldn't be embarrased if one was seen on my layout.
If the UK price was to be the direct sterling equivalent it would sell by the container load (-ish) - and would represent a fantastic entry model for all aspiring garden/live steam fans.
Perhaps some form of coupling would be advisable...... but that's me being pre-production picky.
I can only start to imagine all the permutations, adaptations and alterations it would spawn.
I'll give it 8 out of 10 and a Silver star.

Looks like I'm in a miority!

I assume it has a geared oscillator in there somewhere?

Still, it's cheap....still ugh though.

An interesting concept, at an attractive price, so, bash, bash, bash, what loco could come out at the end of the bashing? Must have some potential, let the creative juices flow ;-)

Happy steamings,

John

PS If there is any creative juice spare mines a pint please ;-)

John,
Can you find out a bit more about it?Thanks .....Allan.

OK, with reference to this thread I'm going to call this an 'UgPug' until Accucraft decide to give it a name.

I'm presuming it must be inside oscillating cylinder/s. I have put a request for info in to Accucraft so will let you know the official story in due course.

I guess as supplied it doesn't have a pressure gauge. I also note they are saying 48" minimum radius, this must be wrong, it should do R1 easily so maybe with their American brains they are thinking of 48" diameter?

Would I buy one to run as is? Probably not. Would I buy one and convert it into something British? Maybe, if I had the time. Hmm, dummy outside cylinders bolted on, new body work, what do we have......... ???

Happy steamings,

John

Thanks John.

I'm thinking it could make a good tram type engine. Add some skirting around the chassis, fit a British smokebox door....

Imagine it will be built down to a price so maybe pressure gauges etc will be available as an add on?

They ran the little 0-4-0 at the National Summer Steamup in Sacramento, California last month. It ran fine and was well received as a 'low cost' loco. They are taking pre-orders now and as least one of my local steamup group is on the waiting list. It looks like a great candidate for bashing.

Sorry mate, can't be a copy, you ain't got wizzy cranks!:bigsmile:

I Like the look of her too, I've always had a soft spot for industrial locos :thumbup:

Surely the boiler capacity is going to be so small the loco will run out of water in seconds....
