New Accucraft steamer?

She is obviously small in the boiler , unless there is some cunning design at work.
I think LGB have it covered, one of these and some flexible tubing should do it. :nerd:

Only kidding!

The more I think about it the more ill be getting one!

My issue with the regner line is that are a little large scale wise.

Let us know how you get on sea lion as I may well pre order one.

Speaking of rail motors must start my gauge 3 one.

H'mm - a couple of typo's in the description (like 154.70 inch?). Whatever the pros & cons, it seems like a very economical (price-wise) loco:thumbup:

Yes, I noticed that the length was a bit unmanageable -- my hunch is that they meant 154.7mm, rather than a model nearly 13 feet long ;)

If the price is good I can see two being used just for the chassis to make articulated locos with a big boiler above.

A bit more information from Accucrfat for you. The power unit is a twin cylinder oscillater with a 2 to 1 gearing. At a guess run time might be 15 mins without using a top up valve. I'm not sure what run time you would get out of the gas tank if you did use a goodall valve to top up. Naturally tram conversions etc would provide space for a bigger gas tank if required, or of course someone might fit the power unit with a larger boiler for a mega bash.

Happy steamings,

John

I really like it. I think I might end buying one when it comes out. Not sure if like the idea of ordering something before its made especially if they charge the full price. A deposit would be better.
I think it would be perfect for my RR.

The latest Accucrat newsletter says this loco is to 7/8ths scale.
Suitable for 2ft radius curves.
Expected to retail @ £375 ish.

So is it 1:20.3 or 7/8ths scale? Looks more like 1:20.3 to me but Accucraft need to make their mind up

I think it hardly matters as it's freelance anyway. Take it whichever way you like.

For all people that have mentioned doing a tram bash out of this loco, Swiftsixteen have an etched tram body kit in production at the moment which should be out in a month or two!!! It is designed to go on a Roundhouse Bertie, but obviously can be made to go on almost any small loco or scratch built electric chassis.

This loco is 1:20.3 and the new Accucraft Porter also on their ebay shop is 7/8ths.

Accucraft site says its 1:20 scale. Not sure where 7/8th came from but they do have that nice porter in 7/8ths.
My decision will be do I get the Dora, the Regner Lumberjack or the Regner Climax? I like the price of the Dora.

Errr...since when is 1:22.5 on 45mm track equal to 7/8" scale? If it was 7/8" the scale on 45mm track would be 1:13 wouldn't it? Someone at Accucraft isn't looking at their own specs.

Ah yes, but it doesn't actually say 1:22.5 it states 22.5mm to a foot, very different beasty indeed ;-)

Think of it like this, 7/8ths is using 45mm track to represent 2 foot gauge, so you saw 45mm in half and get 22.5mm to the foot. Convert a foot into metric and divide by 22.5 and you get your 1:13 and a bit.

Happy steamiongs,

John
