New engine house

I think I have the roof done. I painted it like 3 different times. I used a iron textured paint, rusty red primer, silver, and flat black. This is my first time painting a roof like this. I finally just stop and figured it is what it is now lol. I think it will grow on me. I placed it in the railroad where it will be to get an idea of what it will look like. I snapped a few pictures.IMG_20180813_132615872.jpgIMG_20180813_132558100.jpgIMG_20180813_132550065.jpgIMG_20180813_132537844.jpgIMG_20180813_132532210.jpg

More work today. I wanted to put a floor in . Eventually I want to add workbenches and tools and lights . 1/2 inch beams were cut and placed on the concrete slab then 3/4 inch wide strips of wood were glued down over the beams. I used a bogie to roll on the tracks to make sure the wood flooring wasn't to close to the rails . But I wanted the wood as close as possible to rails. Looks good. Assuming this building will remain outside, I am interested to know what wood and glue you are using - I tried something similar with a goods shed many years ago but the ice lolly sticks (you would call them 'popsicle sticks' I guess) didn't enjoy the experience of being exposed to the elements.

th
if you are counting rivets ! ;)
Looks Great !

Thanks. I use gorilla glue clear for outdoor use. And the wood is popular. With clear varnish. We will see how it holds up. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the comments.

Thin stripwood seems 'better' if you apply a similar finish to the reverse, before sticking them down..
I don't think it seals the grain, more makes both sides behave in the same way, so less warping and twisting??
