Privet?

I'm told they're not much good where there are rocks and roots.

why not connect the puller to the next set of roots, that way you will always get one of them out,-- good luck ////

Can be a vicious tool though - not for the faint hearted when it hits a root.borer.jpg

Very true. great in plain earth but they just bounce off obstructions (or stop dead, and the handle doesn't!)

Ok, there are two-person post hole borers, but perhaps this will serve you better:

This should go through anything, bar boulders and solid rock.

If it was quarter scale my problem would still be access.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Stump Grubbing (4) (600 x 450).jpg

Only about 4ft to go now. Some real toughies today, one is still in there and will need removing later, the very hard way. Pick and spade!

Yay! Finished! Done! Definitely earned beer o'clock today. Hadter gerrit dun, wet forecast for termorra.

Stump Grubbing (7) (450 x 600).jpg

Still a mite of clearing up to do and of course no post holes yet. but it won't hurt if that takes a little while.

I want to remove that last post and put a proper corner one in, as far over as I can get it. Then work back up to it. Reckon I should easily get three tracks down there if not four.

SBK arrived Alan. Bought on-line, none of the garden centres round here had any (???)

If it won't take four at the upper end it certainly should do at the bottom, so maybe three into four.

Got back ache now, and the Tens machine is buzzing away, the only help I got was from old Percy. He's good at everything that lad. Good old Perseverance. ;)

Law of levers apply here

I can see a film or a TV series coming out of this....LEVER'S LAW..he tugs the criminals and leaves them flat. No need to hedge your bets when he's on the case. He works with Special Branch to root out evil. Don't be a sap, let Lever do the spade work,...

Today I've managed to do a very large amount of '3 times dry, and 3 times wet'. (Some will understand) The difficult bit was the 'dry' one as it has insisted on 'persisting' since I opened the very first bag. The weather certainly hasn't been friendly throughout this project. Today I carried on, regardless. I am now sore and exceedingly damp around the gills. :whew: I think I've earned beer o'clock, but I just don't have the energy left to pull the ring!!! I might just go lie in a hot bath and soak for an hour instead. :wondering::wondering:

For those that didn't get the 3 dry, 3 wet reference the answer is concrete. I had intended to do more post holes today but it was too windy. I did however have quite a good night on eBay last night and think I've now secured almost enough track to complete the task. :)
