Rebuilding my Railway

I'm near Doncaster about 20mins away so I might see about getting some delivered. I'd if thought B&Q or The Ramge would as they have garden centres..

I used the Westland product but, sadly no longer available any more over here. What replaced it was more like 2mm to dust (just like sand)

It depends what colour you want. Westland (from the UK) is multi-coloured and not crushed rock - alluvial I would say.

I've been told of a more local garden center that should have it! I'm after a dark and sharp ballast. I've got quite a lot done today. If I can find the right grit I'm after I should have some track in place by tomorrow!

I knew somebody would say that.. ;) It's quite a big area to fill with something, I've got a few small trees that I plan to put somewhere! There is going to be a loco shed so that should make it look a little less bland! Sorry about the poor quality picture

Not that much further!

I've already thinking of a possible extension.. This shed is being taken down this year and nothing else is going there. Only problem is them concrete fence posts and the some asbestos roof sheeting behind there :worried: Not sure how much track I could get in there.. (I know its a mess.. We are sorting this part of the garden out this year)

Now that's looking good :clap::clap::clap::clap:

Today I made one hell of a mess.. The ponds been taken out along with all the plants (it's going back later) and I've been pulling out these 60 maybe 70 year old fence posts that are built like a brick **** house.. I've got one out but the other is becoming a pain to get out, I've tried the sledge hammer on it and it barely scratched it. I've also been pulling up the rotted sleeper, so instead of making the place look tidy.... It's very much the opposite :rofl:

"No gain without Pain"?:)

I've started to put some rocks down.. It's looking a lot better. And the supposed indestructible fence post is not in bits which opens up a possible space for a small freight yard (Could do with some ideas for that!). As the pond has been taken out it could be moved so I could get a bridge across it but I'm not sure at the minute..

I do as well, I'm really happy with how its turning out. I'm not sure what to do with this goods depot idea as I can't seem to think of a good track plan for it, I'll try get a photo of the area tomorrow. getting it round the plum tree and not near the fence will be difficult. Not sure if I should just scrap the idea I've also only just realised Pola no longer sell the goods depot I was wanting for it.

Just looking at the loop in the last pic, if you reconfigured the Curves on the bit opposite the Sidings (left behind the front 2 trees in pots) that section could come to the left somewhat and join the main line nearer the photer. Thus giving you space to make the loop longer. Plus allowing slightly longer sidings.
