I maid a purchase from a seller on Ebay that was new to the game. He has a zero feedback, but I put some faith in him as we all have started on Ebay with a zero feedback. The item hasn't arrived by the last date it was supposed to arrive. I have sent the seller five messages to which he has not replied. A tracking number was never provided.

Ebay says to go to the item and open a request. I tried that and there is no option for that action. Can anyone enlighten me on how to proceed ?
 
IIRC you have to wait a certain time before you can register non-arrival.

From eBay's help page...
  1. Go to Purchase history.
  2. Select More actions beside your item and then I didn't receive it.
  3. Tick the box beside I want a refund or I want the item.
  4. You have the option of adding a message to the seller.
  5. Select Send request.
