Suggestions for a replacement for my MTS2 DCC System

To be fair / accurate, was not the 55005 called a Central Station II, and the original ones do support serial functions.

But I always assumed that was a CSII, maybe the 55005 was not referred to as a CSII?

Of course this was also before Marklin owned LGB, so there was never a Marklin / LGB CS until the 3?

There were the red LGB 'MTS', just MTS, then the second version MTS II (so the older is referred to as MTS I.
These were all years before Marklin bought LGB..
There was a 'P' upgrade available, at one time.

I am not sure of the full Marklin 'CS' lineage, but believe there was a 'CS' before they bought LGB?
The CS2 (from memory) was not too well received.. - It wasn't Massoth, and there were the problems associated with the decoders and setting things with the Massoth Navigator.
A perception thing, and differing inplementations / use of CV values.

I have never had a Marklin CSn, but my perception was it was a little finicky, and they seemed to be a myriad of early software updates?

Basically, 'we' were all used to doing things the (partially legacy) LGB / Massoth way.. And the Marklin CS's were, obviously, not Massoth.
