I've been thinking about a few improvements that I wanted to make at Weybourne.

I wanted to move the station further back towards the (neighbour's) garage, so that I could get better access to the sidings.

Also, one of the reversing chords, from South Junction to North Junction, was not parallel with the Down Main line, as I had tried to squeeze too much track in the available space and the geometry hadn't quite worked out.

So changes were made to the track formation on Good Friday, from this....

To this....

The furthest of the 3 sidings was removed and its place was filled by moving the reversing chord that runs from South Junction to North Junction.

The area of the reversing chord will be the site for Weybourne Station, which is to be dismantled brick by brick and rebuilt as original! (Just like Holt on the NNR, which was the old station at Stalham.)

Currently Weybourne is sited as can be seen here, but behind the station, the site is being cleared for the rebuild....

The Infrastrucure Dept hard at work.

The now longer reversing loop is to the front of the digger. This will enable the operation of increased train lengths at Weybourne....

Weybourne South Junction has been remodelled, so that freight trains can access the Quarry Branch and bypass the platform....

South Junction from another perspective.

It's now possible to terminate a passenger service at Weybourne and then run round the train for the return service....

Site clearance should be completed during the Easter break (weather permitting) and the Station relocated during the weekend.

Amazing what a bit of Easter Overtime and an early completion bonus can do for moral

The cleared site of the old station has room where I can replace the siding that was uplifted....

Slight re-alignment of the reversing chord between Weybourne South and North Junctions, so I could have a longer platform.

(Or rather save cutting a curve with Dr Angle Grinder on the slab!)

Using a couple of half curves R1, with a quarter straight between the transistion, I remodelled the original platform approach to a (rather sexy looking) S curve. This gave me just enough space to fit in the last slab for Weybourne Station....

Finally the resiting and reconstruction of Weybourne is now complete.

I just need to do a little bit of electrical wiring to reconnect the lights and some re-wiring to the point motors.
(I'll also need another motor for the additional facing cross-over at South Junction.)

The area with the level crossing tracks will eventually be used for a passing loop siding....

Work on the L&GB continued this Easter Monday.

Electrical work, and the installation of a kick back siding on the site of the previous Weybourne Station.

This siding will eventually become a loop, once I obtain a LH R1 point....
