We visited Model Junction in Bury St Edmunds today.
They have this Stainz in the window display that they reckon covers 8000 miles a year.

This loco has been running for over 40 years now. Once, some young scrotes smashed the window and kicked it around for a while.
It was recovered and repaired. The original LGB track it ran on wore down and was replaced. I have a piece of the original 60100 it ran on, which due to the wear, I now use as a programing track.
And this mighty machine still runs on today. It is a testament to the original LGB build quality.
Does anyone else know of a tougher loco?
