track wanted

But a model railway is never complete, there's always room for expansion
If my wife just could say goodbye to those pesky goats.....
Then i would start building amsterdam cs 1932, just before catenary? period.

Expansion is one thing.... completion is another thing, rember that if you can buy an extra piece of land(mud)

I just got 40 metres of LBG straight track, not many bends , can I make bends and what is the best way
Depends what it is, lgb made flex track so if you have that you can pull the rail out, bend it and push it back in thus creating your curves. You will need to shorten the inside length a bit, a Junior Hacksaw will cut the rail nicely. If it is not flex this is a bit trickier as some of the longer length (double the length of you plastic track) have a fishplate half way along making it really tricky to curve.

You can get various styles of track benders for the job, but they ain't cheap. One way is the infamous belly bender, but you do need to be careful you don't distort the track. On my Peco track, I secured one end and then carefully bent the track to the required position, but my track is a far smaller profile than LGB.
Are you close to a club? If not a G Scale one, how about the local16mm Association group? There's a couple in the Norfolk area

I can lend you a single rail bender?

Send me a PM and we'll sort something out....

Thanks but I have made all the bends I need now , it is easy when you work with the fails and understand how it all works, one think I not work out yet is how the electric points work as my locos are battery powerd no electric track so will have to swich by hand

Hello there. You say that your brown plastic track is not lasting outside which is the reason you are changing, how bad is it? If there are some still usable bits I might be in the market for them for quick cheap temporary layouts on our paving for when the grandchildren come to visit. I would be running r/c Playmobil trains. It would only be down for a day or so at a time.

I want to replace all my old Peco plastic track with good brass track , I need to replace 69ft of straights , 53ft of bends and 6 sets of points, , any suggestions where I can get them from ? new or second hand

WOW thank you Dave . but I have a lot more track than I need. I relayed the track and have real load left over, thinking of selling it

Mate, there is no such thing as too much track! Ask anyone
There's a 16mm group based at Bressingham Steam Museum close to you, it might be worth popping in to see what's going on there, there's also a nice little garden railway show there in August which is definitely a good day out

Planning to be there, although it might be mostly the smaller scales.

They often have a larger scale exhibition later in the summer....
