Train shed

Couple more pix to drive you spare.

Roof lined up properly.

Why is the roof partly red? Because there was an almost empty rattle can that I wanted to chuck out.
Why are there piles of bricks in one corner? Because the ply is trying to curl upwards and the bricks are deterring it until I can install a latch to hold it down.

Plywood roof: Roofing paper (I have a roll left over from my shed construction lo these many years ago) and maybe aluminum sheet.
Walls: Paint.
I presume what you call ‘roofing paper’ is what we call ‘roofing felt’ a tar based product sometimes with small stones or sand on the top surface?

Not sure they're the same thing. "Roofing paper" usually goes between roof decking and shingles as a moisture barrier but can be used by itself on lesser roofs like this one.

Ok know the stuff now, we use it under roofing battens before tiles laid for similar purpose. I use it in front of my lig stores to keep the rain out.

I built a similar wood structure on the rear of my garage a few years back. It is rapidly rotting back to nature and will be replaced this winter with a copy made from Filcris (recycled plastic planks). Hopefully it will last a longer than its predecessor.
I considered plastic planks for my railway. Then I looked at the price ;).
And they aren't as strong as wood, so require more support/bracing, along with expansion/contraction issues, maybe less of a problem in the UK given that our temps in Eastern Ontario can range from -40C to +40 give or take a degree or two.

And it's us British who moan about the weather
We have very little else to cause us consternation, here in the UK....

No bears, venemous beasties, honey badgers, big cats. - Over weight moggie don't count..

Odd weather events (or stoopid developments on flood plains) is about all we have to worry about..

Anyway, back to the train shed:

As Ol’ Sol headed for the western horizon, I cut and placed battens to cover the gap between the upper and lower boards of this wall. The battens are glued and screwed only to the upper board to allow for movement between the boards.
I have to buy three more lengths of batten to finish the other side and back walls. Muggins can’t calculate

First wall battened, caulked and rattled:

I am in two minds (hush, Cap’n) about leaving it this colour or sumpin’ more elegant.
Oh yes, I also mowed down the backyard jungle.
