Trams made in Wuppertal / G scale

Thanks Peter. That can seems to have every language apart from English on it! The brand Dupli-Color is well known so I'm sure I can find it on the Internet somewhere.
Although the English "spray" appears to have crept in to some of them ;). Remembering spitting rattle cans, I like "Spuitplamuur".

Sometimes referred to as high build primer. Here's your local £9.99 Halfords offering..

Today I was able to round off the roof on the corner. A few details were added to the interior. The next step will be the other end of the roof. Then the roof structures come.

Roof corner one is finished,

The chassis was only put to the test under the work tram.

Hello again, some works gone a bit further. The roof is ready for more details.

The roof is finished and has to be lighted from the inside.

76724-modell-atw-751-24.03.2020.jpg

Roof service boards from another Lgb model were adapted, and with ...

... glued with some pressure.

76730-modell-atw-751-25.03.2020.jpg

The height difference looked not too bad. From the top edge of the rail to the entry level it is 360 mm, in g-scale 16 mm. That is possible to work on.
The drives are tandem drives from Ed de Briun / Netherland.

Does anyone of you have experience with electromagnetic couplings from the TT scale? I want to use it to electrically connect the motor tram and trailer.

Cannot help with any knowledge but I would expect a test with a Meter would prove their worth. So long as there is plenty of flexibility allowed with the connection I would imagine that they will be a great idea.

@ dunnyrail, Yes I must test it. Hope that this is strong enough. I will report, what's going with it.
Today I was not very sucessfull, but a bit was done. More thinking, than working. How to install the two motors.

Sideboards on the roof are glued to the roof.

Ah Peter I thought that you were just going to use it for Power Transfer but it appears that you may also be hoping to use it for pulling a Trailer as well. I would be tempted to try it out by pulling a wagon or trailer car in a test rig first. Ought to be possible by just binding one end to a coupling and pulling with your hand to see if it will pull without uncoupling. If ok with one see how it is with a second vehicle, if that works then you should be ok.

@ dunnyrail:
You may have misunderstood me. The electrical connection is only intended for power transmission. Positive pole over the wire, negative pole over the brass coupling. I hope the currents are not too high.

In the moment, the details on the roof are first. Yesterday I built the two roof fans.

Sometimes I'm a bit stupid. Only after a question in another tram forum did I get some detailed photos from our tram museum. Then I remembered that I also have three models in H0. Do I now build the roof structures in a mix of the photos and the model.

Peter I used these small 00 DCC Connectors on a 3 car lash up of LGB Wismar Triebwagen to pass Motor and Track Current between cars. Some would say that the specifications is too small for the currents involved, but thus far no problems endured. The white dot ensures that I fit them cocprrect every time and they are nicely unobtrusive. I expect your Tt Magnetis ones will work just as well. Only issue might be if you get a derailment and current peaks to get things moving at a stall load. Oh by the way those LGB Triebwagen make a great basis for a Belgium Diesel Autorail Tram.

@ dunnyrail: Thank you again. I have to try it.

The green running boards were superfluous because they are largely covered by the resistance boxes.

At first there were only two, four look better. Now the handles on the covers are still missing. They are made from plastic-coated paper clips. - Tomorrow.

I can't work at school I'm on short-time allowance. I'm an Inclusion helper and work for mentaly disabled 13 year old girl. She is well, so me. The teachers at my school wrote an email to my employer. They raised money to support us financially. I am really overwhelmed.

So I have more free time than everything else. It's good that I was able to buy several tram kits well in advance, so I can at least sensibly kill time.
Stay at home and stay healthy - Peter

@ Henri.

She has a slight disability and lives with her parents and grandma. They have their own house and a large garden. Her mother practices for school with her and works in the garden. So she has a job. Still, I think she misses school and her social contacts.

I hope I don't bother you with this almost daily report.

Today I continued to work on the roof structures. The resistance boxes have been completed. The handles were plastic coated paper clips and because Easter is not so far away, they were colored. :D

It may be tomorrow to install the two drives. These come from Ed de Bruin Gartenbahnen / Netherlands.

76759-modell-atw-751-01.04.2020.jpg

To do this, the car body had to be raised. My co worker did this in his own way.

He certainly is! :eek::nod::nod:

Please continue.. You entertain, educate, and I for one, find it very instructive. :)

Do not worry about daily updates, just love to see what you are doing with your Trams.
