Arosa Line

Looks like it could be the same set of stock as well, though I expect the rear red one may have been repainted.
Loco 613 is now withdrawn, as is the coach with the long windows, a one off.

There are still a few of the EW1 coaches running on this line, now in Barenland livery, the blue Arosa livery now long gone. All of the other EW1 coaches have now been withdrawn, following introduction of Capricorn EMUs....

Yes, much less variety now. Somewhere I have a picture of the interior of the 1st class coach with the long windows when my son and I found it on an evening trip down from Arosa. I've also got a pic of an Allegra facing off a van on the street section, driver's eye view looking through the cab...

Great pictures rhaetianfan rhaetianfan thanks for sharing them. There's some real close shaves with traffic and pedestrians too ,on a few you tube videos I have watched.

grizzmo grizzmo this is coming together SO well, awesome progress! What do you plan on running on the layout when it's ready to go?
Thanks zach2thefuture zach2thefuture , long term I plan to run the line "loosely" as it was run by the RhB around 2010 - 2014. I am no purist so I will mix traffic I like from then to now and probably things that never run on the Arosa line as well.
I am saving for a 3 car Allegra set (will take a while as new they are $4500AUD) will see what turns up second hand and a couple of GE 4/4 ii locos.
There is some interesting freight traffic I have seen on the line, logs, rubbish skips and empties out bound and. Inbound there is sand, gravel, cement, coop and plain refrig containers, oil, sliding wall vans (plain, kuoni, calanda) and other skip bins ( no idea what was in them).
There is a daily freight train, but a lot of freight traffic is added to the end of the hourly passenger trains.
I am not sure when the Barenland logo started on some passenger cars, but I like it so will try to get a couple of those eventually.
This is a long term plan as I don't have an unlimited hobby budget and I did spend most of it on the walls we made and track I have already. I will still need some more track to finish. As well as a couple of shade sails to cover the area the, UV down here is very bitey.
Any other traffic people have seen please chip in and let me know.
At moment I have a coop wagon, a old style covered van (to make into a works van) and a stake wagon and motive power is this.

I got this Playmobil loco at Christmas and have fitted r/c and batteries as I will be running dead rail. This fitted my budget at the moment a lot better than a LGB loco. :)

I was going to do other work today and probably should of, but the weather was just too nice. Also the tyres and battery holder for the loco turned up today. So more trains than work today :)
It is a big day here, finally have some track in place. Not much only 3m, but its a start.

The first train to run on the Arosa line closely watched by Doggo.

The longest wagon I have, clearance is only 12mm to the sides here. Not sure if that is too close or not. Might have to do a little sculpting with the grinder and diamond wheel.

Well it's only taken about 10 years of dreaming and a few years of false starts. Plus very nearly one year of hard work on and off but I can say I have a garden railway:)

A miss is as much as a mile, but well worthwhile creating a gauging piece of wood possibly allowing a bit more than that location, a bit of waste ply will do LABEL IT!
