Re:Eighton Bahn AKA testing testing RhB.

I also dipped my toe in the water of international purchases..

Resulting in the addition of three new coaches and an electronic project for my baggage coach....

One of these new coaches promptly blew up when i placed it under power to test the lights.
Ok maybe not quite that dramitic but.....

Have to say whilst the retailer was very good about it, i was faffed about a bit by LGB, so much so that it was fixed at this end...
Whilst my attentions were diverted by Swmbo's latest problems...

So the normal emblishments were then made to the coaches......

As well as the electronic project installed in the baggage car......

Re:Eighton Bahn AKA testing testing RhB.

Then a visit to York, and the purchase of a pair of Piko Curved points.

Followed in a short space of time, an invite to two of the other N.E. chapter railways..
as witnessed here,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XgjGJRLZPQ
and

Then i dipped my toe back into the waters of GSC here.....
http://www.gscalecentral.net/Dietz-tail-lamp-m237098

and as they say the rest is history...or at least my version of it...

What happens next, well only time will tell....

To be continued......possiably....maybe....

Re:Eighton Bahn AKA testing testing RhB.

Your've just got to love GORD; I spent several weeks in hospital a few years ago as what was in effect a medical experiment, while a number of doctors investigated alternatives (including such exotica as a bifurcated aorta and, yes of course, 3 or 4 different C alternatives) before deciding that my problem was GORD combined with an intolerance of PPIs, so now I'm back on that good old standby of the 1980s, Ranitadine - always knew I was an old fashionend sort of guy. However, the variety of symptoms it can throw up at you is certainly unnerving! I too just love gastroscopies - they did one on me with only a local sedative in the throat rather than a general - never again X(. The one good thing about it is that once the treatment becomes effective it usually seems to be really effective.

To get back to the point, though - love that coach set! I'll now have to think about how I could justify something like that on a logging/mining line intellectually set in the Tasmanian bush - but I'm sure I'll be able to rationalise it somehow :D. Then, of course, there's just the little matter of the budget controller who for some reason presently seems to think a skylight is more important than essential railway items... Given the price of LGB items in this part of the world that might take some doing.

Re:Eighton Bahn AKA testing testing RhB.

Had a request for info as to where i got that laptop on that young lady's lap, (well lets face it where else do you put a lap top),
in one of my recent photos.

Well its off the web http://www.printmini.com/printables/ its all done on paper and card.
There are all sorts of things that you print out in a range of scales, aimed at the dolls house market,
books, newspapers, lap top, boxes, posters, even things to build like stereo, computers, cooker, washing machines.
Carn't recall how i came across it....

Sort of thing which someone could well find useful.

Gordon, great to be able to catch up with your railway adventure. It was not the same without you.

Re:Eighton Bahn AKA testing testing RhB.

Well a bit of an update here at Eighton Bahn Towers...

The shed AKA the submarine pen as some have put it, has lived up to its name, inch or so of water inside:crying:
But at least i think i have discovered where it is getting in, and more importantly, i have found a way to get it out,
with the aid of an drill and a few well placed angled holes along the inside of the back walland one in the floor....

Aint taken any photos, yet, too busy ditching stuff and drying it out, mind you i am not too taken by sections of green internal walls i now have....

But i have discoverd some more pics taken outside in the summer.....
