That why boys can run faster than girls - ball bearings!

Sorry to interupt with a bit of seriousness:bigsmile:
Here's a pic I took in 1978 from Port Sunlight Sidings box of a brake van (air braked, though) that shows the colour of the concrete weights on the ends.

Nice shot Keith, gives the idea what I was on about! The ones back in Geordieland were always darker than that - coal dust! They spent most of their lives trundling behind 21 ton hoppers full of it. Different uses will of course show diffferent weathering, all part of observation in our great hobby!

Mel, it looks really good, and I'm keen on the engine and van scenario too.

Re:G64 back to back

The first part of my TTE conversion articles appeared in September's Garden Rail and Tag has now got another three parts ready for future issues.

I've also been asked to do an article for the Gauge 3 Society Journal and have just been taking some pics. Here's a couple that I had left over - 3782 shunts the interchange siding as seen from the platform at Gooey station.

The chassis is a 'normal troublesome truck' chassis encased in the 'cradle' mount for the tanker. You have to cut the sides of the cradle away to allow the frames to move out. I have used a brass plate between the frames to stick them back together as there is nothing to stick them to once they are cut in half.
