Hello from Sarnia

Hmmmm, en ce cas, try Hob-E-Lube, which has dry white lube, dry graphite, white grease, Moly grease with Molybdenum and Utra-lite oil. All packaged in one easy-to-mislay plastic container.

Same stuff, different brand.

No intent to mislead was made here, only to assist.

I used to buy my Hob-e-lube sets from Sandy at Scottish Garden Railways - but I don't know of another UK stockist.

Anyone got any ideas?

I have had my grandfather clock sit for 10 years and would like to get it restarted. Starting yesterday. Every day for a week I am lightly oiling the many gears inside. After a week I will assess then start it up. Do this every 2 years from now on. Ya
Do not do that, oiling it won't help at all as the pivots and bearings are probably gunged up. Adding more lubrication will make things worse. Get it serviced properly. Or have a crack yourself.

Thanks for all your help. I hope my searching for the right thing to do on here helps others as well. Well with the grandfather clock I got in 93. In 2003 got it oiled professionally. In 2014 I just stopped using it. I could not find someone in town to oil it. Even though I did not try that hard. Yesterday I took the cover off to oil. It looks good and clean in there. Little to no wear from what I can see. I will do one more oiling tomorrow. Wait a day then try it. Ordered 10 straight today lgb. V.g. shape off of eBay.

NO! DO NOT KEEP OILING IT! Read what we've posted. Are you sure the clock is dead level and upright? It may just need adjustment of the pallet

Wouldn't it be fun if that were not true :)
Well thanks for the suggestions. And yes I do read your suggestions. When I bought the Grandfather Clock I only payed 600 for it brand new. Howard Millar in Michigan Cherry. I was told it has to be oiled every 10 years but reading online they say 2. I am optimistic it still works great and will give it a go in a few days.

Clock works. Yaaaaa. I will lightly oil it again in a year.

Yes raise the weight to speed it up, lower it to slow it. DO NOT USE MORE OIL!!!!!!, IT WILL CLOG IT UP.
Nice clock, BTW

There are other non-pendulum clocks that need to be level.

I have a verge escapement clock that wants to be level too.

Greg
Really, I thought the Verge escapement was used in early pocket watches, but as you are aware, clocks are like steam engines, awkward buggers

I have seen much nicer. My late brother in law got one as a service award around 15 years ago. It no longer works. I like mine for what I payed for it.

So my Alco f unit. I would like to eventually get rolling stock. Rolling stock that is the same height as my F unit. So question is at 1:29 scale will it match my F unit. Seems to me I read somewhere that people are lowering their engines??? I want it all to match. All the same height.
