Lookin great Mike. I'm sure you'll be back up an runnin soon on the level without the roller coaster bits.

Crikey! More decimation!!

I've used OSB for large parts of mine and I've had no problems (yet). (In fact I think I'll go and double check, that's worrying!) I use roofing felt too, but I use the torch-on stuff that sticks like the proverbial, so there should be no condensation underneath. I also leave lots of underneath air flow space, if I can.

Deck Planks under Felt should last a good long time. I have had no problems with them curling on my line. My Silberhutte Station came from the Ruschbahn and is now over 10 Years on with no curling of the Decking used. All is well clear of the soil with plenty of Air Movement as is yours. Big job of work you have though.

With OSB and torch on felt, you've basically created a waterproof flat roof on which to build the railway. That's one way to kill the cat.

With treated sawn timber, you can afford to have some moisture coming through. Sturdy timbers won't generally warp the dodgy bits will have turned into aircraft propellers during the treatment process) and so you won't need to necessarily have a fully waterproof top - a bit of an air gap between timbers and you're good for another couple of years :devil:

I think you're moving alone nicely.

Alright, in the first piccie I recognise all of the tools (because I've got them too) except that weird red and grey thing on the bridge to the left. What does that do?
Seriously, things are looking good Mike. More power to your elbow

I vaguely remember but cant remember how they work Pugs.

I think they only work when a Woman is attached to the handle end.....

[ducks and runs for cover....]

Jon.

SWOMBO has something like that, but it has a longer handle and she flies around on it.....:wasntme:

You know sometimes a forced rebuild is not a bad thing, we all have bits that we'd do better or differently if we were doing again, yet we persist with it as it is because, well we're human (most of us). When the rebuild is done we think, golly why didn't I do that earlier.
Go Mike, our inspiration as always
