Hi Mike..
How many of the 'bits' that make up your vignettes do you tend to leave out for any length of time?

Suppose I am wondering how most of them fair due to exposure to the elements?

PhilP.

Hi PhilP
Well...all summer ..mostly everything except the traction engine and buses.
Locos and stock... the figures and detailing bits ie luggage and news papers go away in winter along with the station benches..

Thanks Mike..
I am quite impressed how resilient a lot of the 'dressing' bits are.. I know pictures and posters, 'enamel' signs and the like will deteriorate quite quickly, but I guess most you figures are the more expensive 'brands', rather then generic copies?
I would have expected things like the 'wicker' basket on the luggage trolley to suffer quite a bit.

I also guess frequent running means you tend to move items about a little. - Adds to the illusion of life going on in Lazy Grange Bay.
:)

Mike, I have admired your railway for 154 pages, thus far. I know I must have asked in the past, but my brain being not unlike a sieve, well you know. How does your railway always look so pristine ? Also, the artificial turf has looked great for years. Do you live in a bubble.....:giggle:

Hi guys :-) I 're cycle my figures ..I buy nice ones for the shots I like ie station..pub .docks and locks...if they start to fade..I try repainting them..if as usale happens they don't pass the smile test..they become coach passengers..the wicker baskets are 3 year old I think and are ageing really well..again..they will in time be recycled..and either 're used out side or used as a load...as to keeping it clean. . Not this week..lol .we are being invaded by *sugar stealers * at the moment...

Well , the G Rail bargin turn out to be.....
Even more of a bargin..after taking it up to see my mate paul..who managed to fix the lgb black box generic sound unit.. by refixing the colour pot to the bord and removing excess soilder.. we ended up needing a cheap decoda.. a mts3. 2 motor blocks were converted from 3 pin to 4 pin. The old grease removed , lights 're wired. And then tested..I ended up with a unrun.. digical sound loco. Very happy , and I think the previous owner will be happy to know his shelf queen is now running here at Lazy.. 20180530_123016.jpg 20180530_123037.jpg 20180530_122343(0).jpg 20180530_122931.jpg
