S'all right Mike...
You won't have to do the bottom ones... There is always a bit of leakage 'downhill' through a flight of locks! ;)

Mike

your canal is not realistic (speaking as someone that has a narrow boat on a canal)

1. you need a ton of weeds at both sides to make it hard work for boats
2. you need angry fishermen that dont realise that canals were built for boats not fishing
3. where are the car and lorry tyres?
4. lack of used mattresses' floating along
5. at least 1 shopping trolly at a lock
6. the locks all leak so loads of water should be gushing from the closed lock gates
7. the lock paddle winding should have out of order signs on 1/3 of them
8. usual these days to have a body floating along, or at least a car part submerged

other things for good measure (as found rapped round my prop this year)
boxer shorts, string, rope, bin liners, plastic, barbed wire

Other than that looking good, bet it stinks of saddleworth moor fire today though! we can smell it over here in westhoughton.

Good idea with the broken windscreens Mike.

I am going to use a similar idea, but using the glass beads that you can buy as plant pot toppers from garden centres. These will be placed in a plastic pond that I have found.

Following a visit to an arts exhibition, I might also experiment with a mirror or foil surface, to reflect light from the bottom to give added depth to the 'water'....

Reading in the Rochdale local newspaper that police are looking for a male in Whitworth who has been smashing car windscreens..................

A short male??

All you need would be a cat sitting under the window .
Something like this maybe .

Impressed with the simulated water, Mike. I'd never have thought of it. Mind you, it looks a lot cleaner than the water in the canals around here :)

For a more authentic colour, possibly should have used brown glass from lots of smashed-up beer bottles.....?
