LGB II (The Sequel)

Nicely done.......all coming together very well.

What is the grey building above the tunnel mouth ?

Read through this thread with total admiration tinged with a teaspoon of envy. Brilliant stuff.?: long may your tracks be parallel.
Thanks Trev.

My railway is very 'Main Line' so parallel double trackage is a must have for me, as is complex point-work and junctions....

Following a train running session at my mate Norm's yesterday, I acquired a short roll of roofing felt.

I'd been on the hunt for a while, and I got lucky!

I wanted it for Carolinadorf, a small hamlet above the tunnel on the return loop....

Mizzy will be looking after Carolinadorf.

I've tried to tie the village in with a ramp leading to a level crossing, a lake and a station....

I've had these 2 buildings for a while. I remember buying the low relief building at an exhibition in Biggleswade, but I can't recall where I got the brick building. We decided that here was the only space that they could go....

My next job will be to motorise the points on all the junctions, but I need to purchase a couple of IP67 rated enclosures for the decoders....

This one Paul?

It is the Donkey Sanctuary, a now repainted Child's Farm....

I'm starting to get LGB II ready for the 2021 season.

During winter I've built and painted a few buildings and I've re-aligned the 'S' curve at Pip's South Junction....

We've had some stormy weather here this winter.

During Storm Eunice, our Arbour blew over onto the loop.

Not too much damage to track but a level crossing was broken, so I'll have to replace it.

I was concerned that the slabs under the Arbour weren't level and that it might be top heavy, so some rearrangment was made during re-instatement....

Track and slabs lifted prior to leveling....

Slabs and track re-instated....

The fallen Arbour before lifting back into place....

Base of Arbour was placed in position before the roof was refitted, due to its heavy construction....

Roof refitted and generally tidied up....

Next job will be to source a replacement LGB Level Crossing....

I found this 'railway themed' sign in an Antiques Shop in Sheringham on our last visit to the town.

It is now in place next to the newly named 'Seduction Junction'....

I've been looking for another Level Crossing to replace the one damaged in the storms.

I found this Playmobil one at Rocket Railways in Coalville, just after visiting the GCR.

For a tenner, I thought it was worth a punt for conversion....

Using a Dremel type tool (mines a Minicraft), I cut out the plastic rails....

I've fitted LGB brass rails from the original crossing, a shortened LGB 10000 straight....
