LGB Loco Prototypes---Pictures of the real locos

I also love this thread, there are a couple that sadly never made the LGB Production. Perhaps in the future Marklin may take up the challenge. I am paerticularly thinking of the DFB 2-6-0 Blue rack Loco. Loverly. Also a Harz Mountains Mallet would be nice.

Any how I have checked the forum so far and these two have not yet appeared:-
First is the Selktbahn (Harz) 2-6-2t as done by LGB 26801 and variant Cat No's. At the risk of getting linched.....I should say that this is also the loco that Newquid and the subsequent variant manufacturer has produced as a radio Controlled battery locomotive.

My final offering (for the moment) is the Rungen 0-8-0t as in LGB/Marklin 28003 plus variant LGB Cat No's. This was also produced in Green by LGB.

Corpet Louvet ex Cotes du Nord No.36 affectionately known as Lulu, preserved by MTVS (near Paris). There was a Corpet that ran in UK named "Cambrai" but that looks nothing like the LGB Corpets, which are however very good representations of Lulu and hundreds of typical French local railway locos - produced from the 1890s to the 1920s, there were many variations, with different wheelbases and wheel sizes...

It was running on a demonstration line laid to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening of a local line (and I have lost my notes of whjere and when).

Lulu has also run on the Chemin de fer de Provence on tourist trains...

great link for the racks (one of my own personal LGB favorites and a sleeper

-very interesting -interesting too to see how the consists vary with grade -as does the loco position in the train  itself

also interesting to seee that the blue and white livery lasted from something around like 1916 to 1961!

Wow, for the HF130C photo, you picked a real rarity, that is the ex FBB/FOD one, lives in Frýdlant, Czech Republic. Maybe the line will be rebuilt, but I fear not due to the terrible floods in the area this past august. :(

Howzbout the Spremberger Stadbahn #11 (later DR 99 5001) in its "Fotografieranstrich" before leaving the Borsig works, and early service photo. Note the large arrestor, no air brakes and no rear bunker (all added later by the DR for the HSB). I kind of like it better this way than as a DR lok.
