National Garden Railway Show Peterborough 2021 - who's going??

I enjoyed the show, though agree with the above comments about attendance. However for my first real trip out in 15 months, 400 mile round trip plus hotel, was it worth it YES, it was good to be out, and for me (and Mrs B) the open spaces were much appreciated.
Dedication. Good show, that man.

They'll have to wait :nod::nod:
Kindly, Casey said that he would collect them from the show and transport them near to Phil...
and that is what has happened so...... there was not a long wait for some long weights... :rofl:

They are now at the CFR ready for collection when Phil wants too.

I enjoyed the show yesterday, spoke to a few folks (as others have said, apologies to those I didn't recognise under the masks...), bought just a couple of things (a secondhand LGB beer car from Peter at Chalk, and the rather nice new(ish?) book on the Darj' B class).

It was good to be out at a show again, and the fact that it was quite sparse and spead out calmed any residual unease after the long break - but like others have commented already, I do worry how the organisers have fared financially. There were a lot of increasingly desperate sounding tannoy calls going out around 1pm about the Association AGM, trying to get the minimum of 50 members to form the quorum number required under the constitution - anyone know if they actually managed it in the end, as I left around that time - not that I could have gone along anyway, as I'm not a 16mmNGA member these days?

Over-all, I was glad that I went - let's just hope that subsequent shows get a bit closer to the "old normal", if we can even remember what that was!

Jon.

Evening,
Well! yesterday was a game of 2 halves :think: Up at 5am, train to London on time, 10 min walk to Kings Cross for the 8.30 and arrived on time at Peterboro at 9.16, then the bus, hmm 9.35 turned up at 9.50, don't know why. At the show a good time was had, a natter with Northsider and the guys from the IOM 15mm group. good look around, lots of space to move about the hall so felt quite safe, indulged in a bit shopping for the usual bits and bobs.
now the bus back to the station and it's all gone a bit pear shaped, when I got to the bus stop at 12.45, no bus and asking people there, they had been told there would be no bus until 14.30:eek: (the train home is 13.30) so going back to the hall to find out what was happening and after speaking to several people one of the stewards very kindly gave me a lift to the station, phew
trains back all on time, so got home after a 13 hour day out, tied, but happy. The bus side of things rather spoiled things a bit, to travel over 260 miles each way and let down on the last 4 miles took the shine off a bit, I think next time, may be book an over night stop and bring a push bike!

Yep thats me in the red shirt which seams to have gone a shade of "Portillo" pink :giggle:

Unfortunately, Mizzy and I had to miss this one as it clashed with a holiday.
