Ox Mountain Railway

Picassa has limited editing tools - you can crop and brighten etc, but I can't and generally don't.

Not only do I share your frustration at the constant IT changes, but I can't take very good pictures either :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I remember, in my job working for the council, various sectors of the maintenance department were going for ISO certification. I had to supply the COSHH assesments for all the products my department supplied.

My boss said not to worry, the ISO standard wasn't about quality - just consistency in application. So I could get an ISO 5009 for my photography being consistently carp:banghead:

Anyway, yesterday, I managed to finish the couplings on the Critter, repair or replace missing bodywork details and prime them.

The coupling body mount is intentionally stiff, whilst the coupling istelf is allowed to swivel. I used 3mm bolts and found my stock of nyloc nuts to secure the pivoting movement.

AS I am now heading for a 'train a day' operation, the Critter was tested with a small train of tankers (all weathered or pre-stressed and awaiting a common livery - all bargain purchases).....

Just need to find (or mix) some gunmetal grey to finish off the repairs!

Ah the quality debate - dead right.

You know those little flimsy gloves you get on the filling station forecourt to fill your diesel car.

How many times have they split while you're wearing them?

In all the times I've used them, I can only remember it happening once.

Thus a good, quality product - it complies with the client's performance specification, and performs the task required.

Just one or two further pics of my "train a day" ....

Playmobil Diesel and, with the colloquialism "D'eese will do", it certainly does! R/C, Battery operated, Sound, Horn, Directional lighting (all under your control) - probably the greatest value for money ever if you like this robust model..

Mick,
If you can get away with it, those Breeze Blocks in the last Pic in post 496 would certainly enhance the line with some Sky Blue Painting towards the top and perhaps Green at the bottom to represent a lovely day in the Emerald Isle. Or perhaps the Grey is more appropriate for a soft day.

You're right Jon - just need 3 weeks of really good weather for the blocks to dry out. Now who sells good weather?
