RTM tramways

Someone had second thoughts about the track layout... I think I recognise the tiny footprints...

Hm Bunnies and Sand. I think not, you do quickly need to consider either Rowlands Mix or Concrete Surface to stop them. You could leave Pot sized gaps (use a small flower pot then remove it when mix is dry) to do limited Bunny Free planting. Not sure how Seedums and Succulents would be in the Bunny proof department. They would gradually spread over the base if you used some Alpine Grit on top of the mix.

Loco Shed, that Tower will more than likely have the Wood Box on top to give Winter Protection to a Round Water Tank for Puffers. Box would be an easy build from scribed HIPS glued with Pipe Adhesive on Soldered up Brass Legs made from KS Section. Legs could be as detailed or Simple as you choose to make them.

Or rabbit stew :emo: No only joking. Something I'd seen Greg do on the Sandstone & Termite railway was to use shade cloth to lay over the track when not in use. In Greg's case to keep leaves etc off the railway, but maybe something on similar lines to discourage the cute wee fluffy bunnies before they do wear out their cuteness:angel:

Trespassers on the railway eh?

Maybe if you keep the track power on, it might discourage those pesky wabbits.

I'd be willing to bet that they can feel the 22V under those bunny feet....

Why is it so hard to think ahead...

Considering this is your first garden railway, you are doing very well! ;):clap:

Stick another pair (or two) of wires through, and leave plenty of 'spare' at either end. - Corrosion will get down the insulation a bit over time..
You then have spare wires for lights in building(s), or a signal/point. in the future.

Looking good Henri....

Yesterday evening I finished track laying and today I finished connecting all things electrical. Besides a stupid wiring error and a faulty switch, it is working as I 'designed' it!

Oh boy what a fun playing with four locos on the tracks !!!! Too bad it started raining.

More pics will follow but here's the first one! Elias passing the railbus.

I am so happy!! Still a lot of things to do but running a few trains gives so much energy after all these weeks of hard work!!!!
