RTM tramways

Thanks for the kind words!!! Means a lot to me to hear it from experienced railroaders!!!

As I wrote somewhere earlier, it railroad is a therapy for the family (mostly myself) as my wife is suffering from cancer. It helped me through the half year of therapy and surgery she had to take. Fortunately my wife is declared 'clean' (what is the correct English, all bad cells are removed?) but now she has fallen into the 'black hole' as she now actually realises what she has gone through. This has stopped my work on the tramway as all my free time is to help her getting her mind back to 'normal'... We take very long walks and talk for hours, each evening and weekends.

We'll get there, but at the moment I have no time to finish the sawmill or engine shed... Ah well, it is time very well spend.

Thoughts are with you and your wife Henri. Went through this with my wife too. It does get better in time mate.

Today I finally had time to run some trains. It was dry, but with a decent wind blowing. The tree in our garden is loosing all its leaves and you know where they end up... Right...

I cleaned the tracks with a dry towel and oh wonder, everything worked! Only one point was blocked by a snail... And during running leaves kept falling so we had some delay there, but otherwise it were a couple of fun hours!

I took out the Stainz, the Elias and the railbus. This week I got two starter set coaches in creme/red livery. And oh yes, they are an EXACT match with the railbus! What a joy! So today I only ran passenger trains. It was good to run trains again!

Here are 'some' piccies I took... Couldn't decide which ones to show, so I uploaded all. Notice the moss is also growing! Oh boy oh boy!!!!

You have a great railway, Henri, and an excellent eye for photos. Some could be almost the real thing.

Elias with the 3050 coaches looks just the job and the"clutter" of loose rails and sleepers around the place give it the air of a real railway.

Looking really good - keep at it.

Henri, glad to see the Moss is starting. Do not be tempted to Water it with Tap Water, a little Mist with Rain Water in Dry Weather will green it up. Though by the looks of progress with Moss looks like your spot is well Shaded.

Henri, they are some great photos. I like your line side details like extra ties, rail sections and so forth. Of course the snail would end up in the points.....LOL

Great photos Henri.

Keep up the good work....

The start of the New Year was celebrated by a running hour at Rabbit Hill Tramways. One hour only, as it is freezing AND raining a little bit. VERY cold! (well, in my humble opinion).

Almost no passengers attended so I only half the railbus was in operation and one coach. But timber, on the other hand... All people were inside enjoying the warmth of their fireplaces I guess...

Hope you enjoy these pictures. Don't have much stock and don't have a lengthy layout, but alais, it's what I have and enjoy! :)

(computer/Safari froze up on me... must be the outside temperature...)

Wonderfully realistic loads there and great photos of them. A grand start to the new year.

And you don't need a long layout or a lot of stock to have fun, as you have already found out.
