The EJ&KLR: Austrian narrow gauge in Cheshire

Re:The EJ&KLR project

The Helmsman controllers are difficult to beat for straightforward DC :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Re:The EJ&KLR project

Sorry to repost it but this is a fantastic photo, and its such a shame it isn't a good runner as it looks great:love:

Re:The EJ&KLR project

I'm just catching up with things here, James. The b and w photos are very effective (the three locos on shed is my favourite) and the colour ones are stunning with the cplours being so rich. Quite inspiring.

Re:The EJ&KLR project

Beautiful work , both the models & the photography :thumbup::thumbup: , as usual I will come back for a second or third look later.

Re:The EJ&KLR project

Great photo's James  Really like the Garret that Tim's built looks to good to be a shelf Queen

Re:The EJ&KLR project

Thanks all, lovely to hear such positive words from you all. I do enjoy running and photographing trains on the line, just wish I got to run it more often! Mind you, I'd probably have ripped it all up and changed it by now if it was my own garden, I'm terrible at finishing model railways!

Re:The EJ&KLR project

Your stuff is always nice and the Schoema and Rugen look perfect on that train.
Tims little Beyer is beautiful, even the wheels look right with that slightly eccentric loco so like the early beyers it definitley could be a scale model of some obscure line, I'd buy one if it was a kit!
Shame to relegate the Garratt to a shelf, couldn't he build a powered bogie van to head up a train and push it if it's own mech is poor?
Thanks for sharing looks like a fun day.

some nice things in here:thumbup:

And finally a Faller e-train railbus that runs on a battery powered noisy but effective chassis. I believe he'll be selling it shortly on eBay :)

I guess it is a home made chassis, or is it an ex-LGB/ART/UAST motor block?

I might be interested if he's selling? Thought about buying one of these a few years ago, but I didn't like the 32mm chassis that these were originally fitted with....

Always a problem on 45mm!

Ah, but I was planning to either run it on 32 mm track, or try to re-gauge it.

However, the chassis mechanism was very cheap and flimsy looking. Not robust and certainly beyond adapting to 45mm.

That's why I'm particularly interested in what James's mate Tim did to convert his Faller Railbus....

Re:The EJ&KLR project

Whilst Elly played and watched Frank go round, I sorted some weeding, topping up the ballast, pruning some of the trees and also planting a trio of new plants on the outside edge against the lawn. Very therapeutic!
I'm pleased with how things are looking, I've got a few ideas for taking things further, some fencing, details around the station PLUS a Polish inspired yard office building!

Re:The EJ&KLR project

Thanks guys, good fun today. Lots of rain earlier this evening so hopefully all the new plants will bed in nicely and those trimmed will settle back ok.
