So the V51 class joins the V52 and the V14. By having similar classes of Locomotives from the same manufacturer, the LG&B hopes to achieve operating cost savings....

Now that the snows have cleared away, the LG&B sent a maintenance train topped and tailed by the V51/52 class locos to ensure the PW was still good to run trains....

The Matra Crane wagon is also fitted with rail grinding/cleaning equipment, and needs the extra loco power to drag it up the incline to Weybourne South Junction....

And at the end of the day, the V51 and V52 engines were assigned to Engineering works trains at Sheringham ready to carry out any essential maintenance on the PW.
