Thermalite Viaduct Build

Cheers Marcus i will go and make a start.

Pugs praise in deed, the real praise goes to the forum and the advise given ie Wod , Don , Trevor and others

Oh and of course Gregh who set me off on this in the first place and Travis Perkins who made a mistake and sold me 5 blocks for £3.00 rather than £3.00 each :rolf:
Only realised when i had got home would have cost me more in fuel to go back

Creeping will get you anywhere

But I do agree a mighty fine job, Steve

Further to your question about the scuppers I found these below, easily malleable out of a breezeblock!
(sorry all pics rather small)
faces faces faces
Those are gargoyles (woody word), ships have scuppers. Bridges have drains although I dare say some of Brunel's creations have fiddly bits to make them look nice.

Yes . . . but ships have bridges which also have drains, as well as scuppers, so is that logic scuppered???

says he tongue in cheek - tongue in cheek - tongue in cheek

I suppose it comes down to whose tongue is between whose cheeks....:rolf::rolf: and applying your logic, what comes off the poop deck which is above the bridge? :bleh:

Poop deck's at the back mate - but the monkey island is above the bridge!!!

Doesn't this depend on the type of vessel? Sailing ships had the poop above and to the stern of the vessel, above the bridge (and famously hanging over the captain's quarters) :onphone:

Sailing vessels of that era didn't have a bridge.....it was called the quarterdeck.

I have to admit my knowledge of sailing ships is limited. One, to be precise, but went often there when we lived at Gosport.

...and a fine vessel she is!! That was where my missus discovered I wasn't kidding about why the heads are called...heads! I love the fact that she was never de-commissioned, and still has a 4 ring Captain. Only ever got to 2 myself.

Only on rope on these too Wod - the rest are 'wires'

Anyway, careering back on topic, stepping the walls out made all the difference to the viaduct, I thought. Looking forward to seeing it in-situ now, Steve.....

When you quoted my message you left in the 'image 0', then you atttached your pic which is also 'image 0' and presto, two the same. When you quote a message either delete the image, or if you want to leave it in for comparison give yours a different number
