Metal bodies are not such a problem nowadays - just prevent the aerial from touching the body.Managed to fit a Piko RC Rx in the roof of this IP Engineering Diesel that is getting remote control. Only worked handrolically till now. Thin plasticard holds it in place and the wires will all be disguised to sit below the body. As ever bit of a shoe horn job but at least it works on the test set up. I had been concerned that the metal body would screw up the radio signal, but all appears to be well without drilling a hole in the roof to poke the aerial out. Originally run on 6AA but will be getting 8NiMh which should make life easier rather than having to unscrew 4 screws every time the batts ran out. The Rx is near invisble and held in place by the roof screws. Not very pretty but not my loco and owner happy with it.

Started this 12 years ago, but became disenchanted with the Gauge 0 Guild, and was mothballed so I currently can't remember where I was going with it.Shunting puzzle or part of a more extensive empire?
A place for everything, and everything in its place, and I have only just finished sorting it outIrritatingly clean and tidy!
To the poor house, if it's O Gaugeso I currently can't remember where I was going with it.
Yes the RX is wrapped in shrink wrap but not shrink’ed so aerial not touching metal. Spect it I had drilled a hole for it it would have been, bad news.Metal bodies are not such a problem nowadays - just prevent the aerial from touching the body.
My Yeti is a nickel silver bodied kit, and the aerial is inside the glazed cab OK - as is the infra-red for the MLS sound card
Care to give a make, model, store? I could use a work table for my La-Z-Boy too!I never seem to make much progress on the indoor projects of my railway. while Denice sits in her chair and currently does cross stitch. I have a good work area where my ham radio gear is. Dee came up with the idea of some kind of desk/table so i can work in my Lazy Boy. While at Cass I went on an internet hunt. Finally on page 7 on"A" I found the one pictured below. It came friday and it's the cats meow. No more excuses work WILL be done next to my Girl.View attachment 306522View attachment 306523View attachment 306524

Thanks, I was able to find it by entering the items description. I didn't order the same one, but a slightly smaller desk from another manufacturer. My space is very limited while we are between houses and living in a single wide manufactured home. I like the idea of being able to sit with my wife and each of us work on our projects.VIVO Height and Length Adjustable Mobile Desk for Kids and Adults, Tilting Table Top, Rolling Interactive Ergonomic Workstation on Wheels, DESK-V202A

Oh what kind of battery involved?I managed to cause a small conflagration whilst trying to rewire a small battery powered Friog locomotive. Luckily I was able to extinguish the fire quickly, phew . Lesson learned.
