What happened at your workbench today?

As your designs work, it may be the basis for a plans book to publish

I have never been a good marketer. Thanks for the idea.

IMG_7975.jpegIMG_7976.jpegAlittle more progress on harry Potter's castle.

Mooching about in the shed, tinkering and completing a few bits and bobs, way back at post #2745 was the lorry and the possibility of repurposing the HIAB, well after leaving the idea to ferment for a while, lo and behold came up with a solution, as it transpires was a lot simpler to implement than first mulled over.

Ok, not one of the finest works of art, but the saving grace, it was cheap and simple to convert.

Phwoar, try saying that when you've had some kirsch :worried::worried:

Meanwhile, I'm still fiddling with the HGLW sleigh and reindeer - the kits are straightforward enough, it's my application whcih has been rather lacking :emo::emo:

Somewhat akin to my school reports - 'could do better' :lipssealed::lipssealed::lipssealed:
I used to get that on all of my School reports!

When I was training to be a Jedi Knight, they used to say 'Better, he could do'. I gave it all up, I decided once a King, always a King, once a Knight is enough.

Other than some masking to do before i aim the rattle can at this thing, I think it is ready to be finished. The front door will be installed after Mrs P does her magic to make it look like wood. The penciled in stone arches were an experiment. These walls will be a solid color.

Should anyone happen to be slightest bit interested or wondered what happened with the Fork Lift Truck mechanism from post #2748.......

Ah, I've just read the post again and this time the cursoir must have been in the right place on the pictures as their title was displayed.

I think it is ready to be finished.
A think a bit to small?
But looking very good, more details on the main/front/tall tower?
A front pic would be nice?
With your building it is a most common church building from 1200.
I mean with those arches and their stretch foot( i was in the construction for some decades)

With best regards Igor

It may not be up to the high Goldsworthy standards, but it'll keep someone amused, especially if it's filled with chocolate :eek:

I researched images of Harry Potter's castle before I started on this project. Most of what I found could be mistaken for a church.
I thought of modeling it in G scale, or 1:24 th scale. But as you can imagine, it would be quite large. I utilized a rubber ruler and made it to ? scale. My grandson will allow me the artistic license, I hope.....:giggle:

Much of the Potter School as you say is very Church Like, I reckon a very good job and looks the biz.

It has happened on my workbench, just not G Scale, this is the progress of my two 0 Gauge coaches, the fist a Kirk, shell, the second a re-widened Lima.

Both look very good, excellent paint job as well. As that is a similar livery to some of my Harz stock I know how tricky it can be to get the joint between the colours right.

Having got time, I like to leave at least a week between paint coats, and other jobs, I have Fox decals for the lining and other item, so that will be next week. These have been on going for 10 years (fall out with 0 Gauge), but should be finished by spring.

The first coat of paint. The roof will be black or some shad of it. Yea I know, black is black, I want my baby back.....See how I went right into song.....:giggle:
